Happy Monday!

Happy Monday! I didn't mean to post once and than disappear for a week! I had some custom Valentine orders that I needed to get done. I wanted to share those with you above. I did a XOXO, two banners- one spelling XOXO and FRIENDS, and a couple of scallop hearts. I had a lot of fun making them! They are all on their way to their new homes.

I also wanted to share a few new finds! I found the little couple..which seemed Valentiney to me..they are now hangin out on the hutch. I also found the new green frame and the galvanized like tins (for my craft room). I made myself a "C"...for my room w/ some of my favorite papers and a little tag that I hung around my cake stand. You can see a few snippets of my room coming together...the ribbons all in a row and the canisters with the cherries (of course). Well I hope this week is a little slower....our son is playing basketball (his school is 20 miles one way) soooo lots of time on the road during the weekend. I have a lot of catching up to do! Hugs to you all, Cherry

Some awards and a discovery of a new blog!

I got this wonderful award from Alvn at & from Tam over at

What the Award is About...
"This Blog invests and believes the Proximity- nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming...these kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self- aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers!" I want to extend this to all the people that I come in contact with daily! All your friendships mean sooo much! Thank-you to you both for thinking of me with this award!

On a different note I wanted to share a new to me blog with you all. Some of you may have already gone to visit her ..but for those who have not ..I wanted to share. I am giddy that I found this fab chick! Just like you and me she loves to stretch her dollar. Her house is charming and well down right adorable. Anyone with ironstone pitchers and pom pom fringed curtains..are alright in my book. OHHH and check her kitchen redo. We all love to find new inspiration..and she fits the bill..........go visit...Mom of three at let her know you visited! Well that is all for me tonight. I got a couple of things up my sleeve..hopefully to share in the next few days. I am off to watch "Guess who's coming to dinner" with my son....introducing the next generation to the good stuff! Hugs, cherry

Before and some Afters

Calvini Whodini who wears a bikini and likes fine martinis! It might not be Shakespeare..but it works for our family!

So being that it is Martin Luther King Day (a man to be remembered)...TMC has been running movies with great actors such as Sidney Poitier . He is one of my all time favorites. I love "A Patch of Blue"..and "Lillies of the Field"....both are top notch films. I am one of those that have a problem with wanting to keep my hands busy while watching I finished up some projects I had started last week. I had grand schemes of finishing up my craft room (I soooo want to share that with you when it is finished) but that did not happen. I did however finish two items that are now in there. Remember the little cannisters...well they are now future holders of bits and baubles. I also picked up some mini clipboards for a 1.00. I made one into a picture frame of sorts. It holds a picture of my boy on his birthday.
Our Calvin Cat got in on the act as well...he constantly takes poor Riley's bed....and Riley is do I say it....a bit of a baby. He is scared of this 10 pound kitty. So I snapped a pic of Calivini whodini taking up this HUGE bed. Lastly I recovered this thrift remember this project ... same type of project but used paper...that looks just like fabric. I LOVE that paper. I want to put a special pic in it. I already moved one of my pitchers as well. Nothing stays in the same spot for long. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a good holiday today. Cherry

The little Hutch that could...

Good evening (Best Hitchcock voice)....I hope everyone's Friday is fairing well. While I know I have shared this wall hutch a time or two...I thought I would revisit it today. It has been a great bargain and a wonderful form of entertainment for yours truly over the last couple of years. It started out a diamond in the ruff as many do. I got it at a garage sale down the road. It had no back and was a hidous 70's brown. I added beadboard to the back and painted it black. It stayed that way for some time...until I got a I often do.. to paint. Now she is white. I moved most of my milk glass collection onto it today. (I LOVE milkglass..and never pay more than a few dollars for any given piece.) I Played around with it until I was satisfied. I tucked in a few Valentine's crafts that I finished last night. I sprayed an old dusty frame red and stamped the word love and framed it inside. I scuffed it up a bit with some sandpaper. I also covered the chipboard LOVE and HEART with the KEYHOLE w/ some fun Valentine type papers... The keyhole heart I decided to make reversible and did black/white polka dots on the other side...I think I will keep it out year round ...
The white pitchers are both is from Walmart and the other is a clearance item from had been 14.50 and it was on sale for 7.00.....I LOVE Target clearances. That is about it for me tonight...I am gonna rest my tired dogs...I have been working out and walking. The feet are feeling it! Have a good one! (OHHH and yes those are fake daisies...& YES I LIKE them rofl) Cherry
