Triple whammmmmmmmmy post...

Happy June 1st!  Sorry I have been missing in action lately...with the end of the school year comes soo many activities....sigh.  My baby is graduating 8TH GRADE!!!!!!  SAY IT AIN'T SO!  Also he is doing summer basketball , which means a lot of too and fro.  SHUTTLE SERVICE ANYONE?  I simply can't think straight for the time being.    Besides Summer looming right around the corner...the first of June means a fun challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon!  The first challenge of the month is a "flower" theme....which of course makes me happy!  I focused on old fashion roses using several different images that had the nostalgic bloom on them.  I am back to my old tricks of using a manilla folder.  I love how sturdy they are and they simply make a great base for all the bits and bobs I always have to add.    I used several lovely ribbons from RRR .  On the front I layered both the pink velvet and the Estelle lace together. I also used the pink velvet on some of the tags to pull everything together.  For my bows on the pocket...which I always like really full.. I used the pink wrinkle ribbon in the 1/2 inch size.   All the tags are tied with pink twine and topped off with pink seambinding which I had to mess with a little always and wrinkle it up and distress it with some ink.   Make sure to check the RRR site for more inspiration from the other ladies and we would love to have you join the challenge!  Remember there is a prize!  Ok in other news.....

I am sooooo jacked to share that I am guesting this month over at Wplus9stamps!  I love love their stamps and dies.  I had so much fun getting to play along this month.  Today is the kick off to the new releases that will be ready to buy on June 5th.  Today we get to share "Fresh Picked" and  the matching dies.  I HEART this set so much!  Perfect for Summer.   I may have fudged a bit and used something from another set...but hopefully it is all good!  The flower you see is also made from another die set that it yet to be shared...I decided to make a mini pocket using my strawberry patch die and stitched up the sides...decorated it with a cute handmade bloom and tag..and a little this and that. The inside I stamped a bunch of mini tags to be used on gifts or whatever and tucked them into a mini glassine envelope decorated with one of the strawberries from the set.  I also made mini cards for fun with the strawberry with one of the sweet sentiments and the leaf stamp.  It makes it so easy because they have  matching dies....easy peasy to create!  Well hope you enjoy my take on the new set!  Check out the other girls from the design team and their fab creations!

Wanna make a shabby bloom?

Helllllllllo to you! I am excited today because I get to share a little tutorial I am sharing over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog.   I decided to keep things simple here and show you (with many pics) how to create your own rolled shabby bloom. Now many of you may be familiar with how to do these. I am always late to the party but humor me, ok? LOL! I decided to use some of the burlap ribbon in teal. This stuff is great..first it has wire in it and is very forgiving ..and secondly it is just plain gorgeous. I love burlap of any kind..and this is so cool because it has gorgoeus ticking style stripes through it. The other thing main goody I used were the Middy biddy polka dot Kraft bags. Great bags to use to put yummy treats in or create tags like I did to tuck inside.
I started by tying a simple knot in the end of the ribbon...leaving just a snip of it at the end. This makes for a place to hold on to and the base of the actual bloom. Start wrapping the ribbon around the knot and than alternating every so often by twisting the ribbon in a 360. Every so often use some hot glue to keep the ribbon in place. This ribbon is very easy to manipulate so just have fun with it. Just keep repeating the steps till the bloom becomes the size you want. You can create small ones or larger ones. Mine is medium because I decided to add texture to mine by adding some vintage hankie fabric and a crochet doily. As you can see from the pics I simply just layered each piece on top of eachother.....using hot glue. I attached my bloom to my bag and than added all the fun toppings! I had to use some lace and used both the Allison lace and the Penelope lace combining both together.
I topped it off with some of the new two tone texture ribbon from May Arts . I used some of the same ribbons on my tags and also used some of the sweet jute in blue that I tied onto the tags and in my buttons. I tucked my tags into the bag..leaving some room for a sweet treat and I was done! Hope you have enjoyed ...and uhhh hope I made sense. Don't look to close at my nails....I am not a manicure all...I would rather spend my mad money on paper! Hugs, cherry

New Rubber cafe goodies...

Yipppppppppeeee I am here today to share some new goodies from  The Rubber Cafe! Be still my
ever lovin shabby heart....the new window garden set is adorable. There is also a new die called "on the fence". It is the perfect picket fence! This die could be use in so many diffrent ways. I want to try cutting it with felt and making flowers with it. Today though I made a card using the new set...I stamped my window onto pattern paper and fussy cut it out. I than grabbed some cream cardstock and went to work building my flower window boxes. I stamped the boxes first and than the flowers...I than went in and used the small grasses and ivy stamps to add demension. I fussy cut them out and set aside. I diecut the fence and than stamped flowers on it to look like the flowers were trailing up the sides and added some grass with the larger grass stamp. I added my pattern papers and stitched around the edge of the card. It was than time to adhere my stamp goodies...I used my scrap happy glue and the one and only tape. I also used some 3d foam adhesive for demension on the fence and flower boxes and adhered them. I diecut the scallop oval and cut it in half and adhered each piece one at the top and the bottom of the card. I added a button and some gorgeous Really Reasonable Ribbon and I was done! You best be checking out the new goodies in the store! Have fun! hugs, cherry

Farm Fresh..

Hi ya!  Week is almost over ....time flies...and gets faster and faster the older you get.  Why is that?
Today I found a little time to make something just for fun.   I have been collecting some fun things to make a pocket with a down home feel.   Lots of ginghams in my favorite reds...sweet country images of roosters, milk caps with cows of course, and bottlecaps.  I used some older goodies and some newer.  Love to mix and match.  I find that usually if I have to stay in just one collection or brand I feel uncreative..I have to have that option to pull from this or that.  Are you like that?  All my yummy ribbon comes from Really Reasonable Ribbon of course!  Had fun using some crochet laces, seambindings, wrickle ribbons, and of course that sweet gingham ruffle!  Waste not want not, mix and match...that seems like true farm house style to me!  Hope you enjoy!  Have a wonderful evening...hugs, cherry
