Fall...

Hello to you!  I have a card to share today for RRR.   I fell in love with the sweetheart blossoms and used them to create a fall wreath.  I started with covering my cardstock with my pattern and embossed papers.  From there I used a spellbinders circle as my template to lightly draw on to my diecut paper for the wreath. I added some stitching for a homespun look.   I  than added my denim blue ribbon around my card by cutting a slit in the side and tying my knot.  From there I piggy backed another bow on top for fullness.  It was now time to adhere my flowers around the pencil circle.  A corrugated heart and mother of pearl button was added to the middle.  A metal thankful was added that I lightly sprayed a bit of rust paint to along with a stamped Fall sentiment.  I added Chloe natural lace to the bottom for softness and was done!  I like the blue added to the traditional fall colors!  I always adore a wreath...it's the country girl in me!  Enjoy!  Cherry

shabby chic challenge

Hi there to ya!   It's time for a new challenge over at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

The theme for Challenge #80 is Shabby Chic and Ribbon.
Create a card, layout, multi media piece, tag, ATC, hair bow, you name it. Just be sure to follow the theme above and use ribbon/lace or trim somewhere on your project.

I decided to create two cards....I wanted to try my hand at a shabby Halloween card...so I started with pink and added black for a bit of spook!  I used baby pink and black seam bindings. I love the mix of pink and black and with the image of the little girl in pink I thought I worked perfectly.  The other card is all out shabby using more pink seam binding and Chloe natural crochet lace at the bottom.  I think shabby is all about soft colors, vintage elements, texture, and lots of demenion.  Make sure to check out the challenge and join us!  cherry

Really Reasonable ribbon blog hop!

Time for a Fall fun blog hop with RRR !  You should have made your way here from Gloria's blog but if you some how get lost just start back at the RRR blog!  Aren't the new ribbons in the September ribbon club so yummy and full of Fall charm?  I love them!  I went with a traditional fall look....big ole pumpkin that I added more dimension to by using 3d foam tabs.  I added the lace and polka dot to the top and bottom of my card.  I aged the polka dot and lace a bit.  I also added the brown satin ribbon to the pumpkin along with a die cut and fall leaf.  I topped the bow off with a cute sweetheart flower.   RRR has some of the sweetest new flowers in the store!  You have to check them out.  Hope you enjoy..your next stop is Heather's blog .  hugs, Cherry

Trick or Treat..

September 12th already?   Just flabbergasts me how time goes!  I have a fun little project to share made for the one and only RRR.   So fun to break out the dies and ribbons and combine them all together into something.  I used my basic circles and scallops dies for my layers and added a lot of Tombow 3d foam tabs to create the dimension I wanted.  I made some crepe fringe and added it to the bottom of my terrier images for fun.  My combination of ribbons include the  3/8 swiss dots white with black dots, sheer organza with satin center , and of course  black seam binding.   A bit of Halloween Bakers twine was also added.   It was fun to break into some of RRR's new buttons in a yummy color tangerine tango.  I think these would be cute on a Halloween tree or topped on a "BOO" package for someone!  Hope you enjoy!  Cherry

Hey there Pumpkin!

So I am back from a wonderful trip to the Hawaiian islands and being back home seems so surreal.   I have been use to looking at Banyan and Palm trees NOT pine trees.  It is going to take me a awhile to acclimate myself again and so it is as good a time as any to share some sweet Halloween goodies made for RRR.   It is September now and I do not have to feel guilty sharing a few spooky treats.
I used all seam bindings in my creations including orange, black, and burnt rust which I distressed with Tim Holtz ink.  I also used a wee bit of Halloween Bakers twine through my button. I topped off my last card here with a wild orchid sweetheart blossom in white.  RRR has some of the sweetest new flowers. You have to check them out!   Lots of cute Halloween goodies all from last year.....trying so hard to use what I already have and not buy new.   I also love to use papers that are not necessarily holiday themed...like the black and white paper you see and than use it for Halloween.  Well hope you enjoy and gets you into the fall mood!   Hugs, cherry
