Altered mini bell tart pan ornament

Hello and Happy soon to be Thanksgiving!  Cherry here to share a little tutorial for RRR on creating a unique ornament that you can keep for your tree this year or give as a gift. So many fun things that you can alter and put your own creative touch too!  I recently found a few little vintage bell tart pans and decided to create some ornaments from them.  I gathered some goodies including some oh so yummy lace blue seam binding, .  I also gathered up fun embellishments I thought would go well with my shabby blues.    I used my Scor-buddy mini scoring tablet to create an oval rosette and set it aside.  I decided to spray paint my tart pan and than lightly glittered it with mica flakes.  From there I glued my rosette into place and layered with a glitter star and my little girl image with a glass cabochon.  I added some vintage tinsel around the rosette as well.
To the top of the bell I added heaps of seam bindings, a vintage millinary bird, some little baubles, and a large oversize ring clip that I slid a stamped tag and jingle bell too. From there it is simply ready to wrap or hang on your tree!  I love the soft icy blues and silvers!  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Riddersholm Christmas bells

I don't know about you but I love hunting for unique vintage items to alter.  I was lucky enough to find a couple of vintage bell mini tart pans in my travels.  I decided to create ornaments from them.  I sprayed the bell first with white spray paint and let it cure.  From there I covered the outline of the bell and  the inside with vintage tinsel.  I picked an image from  A Christmas Story and adhered it to a glass cabochon.  I than adhered a vintage rhinestone brooch to the top of the image as a "frame".   From here I just had fun adding bits and bobs....I did some bead work and added vintage jewelry pieces and let them hang from inside.  I added heaps of red seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon as well.  More vintage jewelry on top and a  metal star and I was done.  I just used a regular metal ornament hook adhered to the top.  Would make a pretty present for someone this season.  Or nestle among the boughs on your own tree this year!  I had so much fun creating this...hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Believe

Hello and salutations to you!  I have had my Riddersholm goodies very close by in the last couple of weeks...with the holidays fast approaching..how could I not?  Such beautiful patterns and images for Christmas.  I have had fun lately making several large tags with matching envelopes and decided to embellish this one with the A christmas story collection.  I also used some gorgeous wood appliques..the tree and the believe are from the store.  So fun to mix and match adding in unique goodies you find.  The Riddersholm papers work so well with real vintage trinkets.  Can't wait to make more of these.  Well hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

winter Snowy greetings...

Hi there and happy Wednesday!   It is time for another fun blog hop with RRR .  You should have made your way here from Heather's blog .    If not,  head  on back to the RRR blog so you don’t miss out on any of the fun.
This month's ribbon picks are called Winter Carnival...a beautiful mix of purples, grey, and pinks.   I chose to play with the grey and a bit of the lace in the collection.   I made a simple card with two pattern papers and wrapped the grey satin around the smaller of the two papers almost like you would a package and than stitched around the perimeter.  I added my bit of lace at the bottom.  I added flock to my wood snowflake which is hard to see.  It added a sweet softness to it I think.  From there a bit of layering with a fun berrylicious button.  I topped that off with a little diecut banner with my stamped sentiment and was finished.  I love the grey with the pinks....one of my new fave color combos.  Hope you enjoy...your next stop along the hop is with Bonnie.   Have fun and get inspired!

More of the same...

So behind on things....and  November is almost half over!   Tis the season to make many many Christmas cards.   I created these using some yummy RRR ribbons.   Just to alert you too....RRR is having a store sale until the 14th....better meander over there and do some shopping.   I think ribbons would make the perfect gift for a crafter....display them cute in a container with some buttons and other goodies.  I know I would love something like that!
Well my first card uses some fabric scraps along with my new poinsettia diecut which I love.  I used RRR's lipstick red seam binding along with buttons from the store.  My next card uses the red and white chevron ribbon.  I also used my Epiphany crafts button maker to make a matching button for fun.   Just love that image of the puppies!  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Happy News!

Hi there and happy Monday!  I have a fun project made for the spectacular Crafty Secrets and their monthly challenge !  I have joined their team and I am so excited!   You know me and the holidays, as soon as I got their Retro Christmas cd I was in heaven.   They adorable Santa images including the postcard image is from this cd.  I decked out a stitched up Manila folder with fun bits and bobs and than created a kraft tag to embellish and paired the two together.  I also used a little December month label from their Seasonal calender creative scraps.   Hope you enjoy my project and I can't wait to visit the other gals goodies!  hugs, cherry

Christmas card time!

It is that time of year to get the ball rolling on Christmas cards...and what better way than to start with some sumptuous RRR ribbons, paper, and a couple of kraft bases. I love the natural look of kraft and it goes with every color.  I really love to fuss up  my envelopes especially this time of year!  This project makes a pretty Christmas greeting and a gift all in one!   I used a vintage crochet angel for my main image on my tag and  gussied it up more with some washi tape, wood heart painted and distressed from etsy, some yummy kiwi fruit buttons, and few other little items.  I topped my tag off with May Art 1/8 diagonal stripe ribbon in red and some lipstick red seam binding.  The envelope has more of the seam binding along with bakers twine in peppermint and some lovely white crochet lace.
From there more buttons, and paper diecuts and I was done.   A lot better than a hallmark card I think!  Enjoy!  cherry
