Red, red, and more red

All of these are cards are different in themes...but all have that glorious red.  Fun color to use paired with greens....especially this time of year with fruits and gardens coming soon.  Red is my all time favorite color...my whole house has accents of it.  It just brings such life to a room, what your wearing, and in your card art.   A couple of these cards were ones I had not quite been happy with...they were in my " A good card gone bad pile".  I finally just played around with them a bit and now am satisfied with them.  I used lots of ribbons from RRR.  Seam bindings, laces, polka dot satins.  All things happy pappy!  Enjoy, Cherry

Red, White, and Blue....

All things red, white, and blue!  Love them.  I have a fun RRR project with a Patriotic theme today.  I painted up a couple of old vintage Mason jars with chalk and milk paint.  I used several layers of paint to get a nice distressed look.  From there I decked them out with crepe papers, Patriotic images, buttons, and several RRR ribbons.  I used Flag Grosgrain ribbonred gingham ribbonlipstick red seam binding, and Glory Blue seam binding.  These will be great for Memorial Day and the 4th!  Hope you enjoy, Cherry

Aquas and pinks

Wednesday night......mid week yet again.   I am happy to be able to share something I made.  It seems it is few and far between anymore.  I hope there is someone still visiting here.  As you know I love old sewing things.  I get so excited when I discover old scissors, bobbins, and spools.  Always wondering what someone might have created with them.  I have fun finding new uses for old things, like so many of us.   I have been turning these old knitting spools into pincushions of sorts.  I added vintage scissors to the middle of it, along with a vintage silver circle brooch.  I made some paper fringe out of antique pattern tissues.  I added mini charms and a made a matching little silhouette tag.
My other project using chalk paint.  MAD for it and milk paint.  I want every color!   This aqua is one of my faves.  I added a button patch to the front along with vintage touches and stamping.  Both projects use RRR ribbons.  I so hope someone finds a smidgion of inspiration here.  Hugs, Cherry

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop

Happy Monday!  Great way to start your week by blog hopping with RRR.  You should have found you way here from  Kathy's blog.  We are introducing the new Monthly Ribbons.  Gorgeous Coral and Aqua colors!   I chose to use the Roses with scallop edge and Teresa Crochet lace.  With Mother's day coming up I chose to create a card and pillow box gift set.  I used Carte bella papers along with a handmade layered flower made from a vintage hankie and old linen fabrics.  I also used some Bay Leaf seam binding.  Your next stop is back at the RRR.  Enjoy your hop!  Cherry

Mother....

When I think about my Mother...I think about her sewing.  She made me doll clothes and pajamas and even a stuffed goose.  So it is second nature to create things this time of year with a sewing theme that seem perfect for Mom.   Always loving aqua....and even better when aged with antique wax.  I have been collecting a mass of chalk and milk paint.  I love the instant oldness it adds.  I added unique vintage touches to these pieces.  Always a treat to search through my little jello molds full of trinkets to find just the right piece.  I also used a heap full of Bay Leaf seam binding, one of my favorite colors lately.   I think all of these would make thoughtful gifts for Mom this coming Mother's Day.  Well I am off to bed.  I always hope you enjoy your visit!  Cherry

Bundle of Joy

Let me start by wishing you a Happy Easter!  By the time this posts I will be getting ready to make Easter dinner.  I may be in the kitchen but I can be in two places at once...kinda!  It is my day over at RRR and this month we are product swapping with Crafty Secrets.  Lots of fun inspiration this month! So excited, make sure to keep checking in with the RRR and Crafty Secret's blog for all the gal's projects.   I chose to use these adorabbbbbbbbbbbble Baby girl printable images.   I used almost the whole page....could not stop playing with them.  I started with a chipboard scallop album and went to work adorning it.  Along with the sweet images I used several RRR ribbons including ribbons from this month's ribbon club.  I also used rose petal seam bindingscor-tape adhesive, and buttons from the store.  I added lots of sweet little doodads from my stash.  Doilies, chipboard pieces, pearls, etc.  Just had fun embellishing.  This is perfect for that new mom....great gift for Mother's Day!  Hope you enjoy!    Cherry
