Late to the party...

Hopefully fashionably late...rofl. We did not get back till late last night. So here are a few of my NOT black paint projects for .............. http://joysofhome.blogspot.com/ Paint outside the black box party. For your viewing pleasure we have banner red, apple green, and sky blue. All of these were fun colors to use and I heartily reco. them all. I painted a fleur de lis red, a finial green....both of these had been black. Had to throw in my new little "no place like home" sign I got at Homegoods while on vacation. I had this little wooden type tray and went red with it and sat my pears on it. I got this old Chinese water jug at an estate sale last year....it was lavender and beat up. I spray painted it the sky blue and decoupaged paper and ribbon to it. I also spray painted the little rosette plaque..it had been white. That is a new bird that I had to add to my bird family....love it. I threw in the red birds...I painted those over a year ago...they had been a nasty gold with diamond eyes...!!!!!! And just to prove I am a rebel( James Dean doesn't have nuttin on me)......I sprayed an Avon Eiffel tower glass perfume bottle black...the other little Eiffel tower was lonely and the black just fit. Really it did. Thanks Miss. Joy for having this fun party....fumes and all. Off to go visit everyone's spray paint projects. cherry

  2. As always, I just LOVE your stuff!
Although it kinda freaks me out that we have a lot of the exact same things. My first thought is, "Did she sneak in my house and take mine?!?!" (Hee! Hee!)
Actually I think we might be long lost sisters.
Thanks for suggesting this great idea, Sister. It's been fun!

You're right we have similar tastes. Our houses could be best friends if we let them. I have friends who look down their noses at yard sales and thrift stores. But most of my stuff comes from them. And I love it. And our houses are way cuter than theirs.

  33. You DID fix it---thank you, thank you! :-)

I LOVE black, but love it that color pops are sneaking back in! It's all about moderation, as it is with anything. It is so much fun to see your creativity come to life via photos---you do inspire me to, at least, PUT away my 4th of July decorations and start pulling out the fall stuff! That's probably all I will have time for. I'm heading to a terrific flea market and antique sale this Friday. I hope to find some great items to decorate with--if not, it'll still be great just to escape for the day and "go junkin".
Now, I will proudly add my name and url to your comment page! dana

  37. OMG!!!!!! I love your blog. Everything you do is awesome. I love tutorials. I have a fetish for scrapbook paper yet I don't scrapbook. (is that weird?) I would decoupage just about anything. I found about a dozen projects that I want to try. One of my favorites was the covered eraser (I am off to wal mart to find one as soon as I am done with this post). This may be a stupid question but how do you cover those Christmas (Noel) tags, I may have failed to mention that some of the scrapbook supplies intimidate me. I am so glad that I have your blog to inspire me. I am adding you to my favorites! Thank you so much for stopping by it is nice to meet you, Smiles, Paula
