Itsy teeny weeny bit of sprucing...

I am trying to spruce up this home of ours a bit.  Just moved things around.  I have found it hard lately to feel inspired by my home...I think due in part that we want to move and can't right now....and that makes me feel trapped some what.  I sometimes think "what is the use"....which really is silly.  There is nothing wrong in making your current situation look as nice as possible.  Just a stupid habit I have I guess.  I did get a lovely typography piece that you see up above my old hutch there....my talented friend Kirsten made it for me!   That did help me feel inspired.  I like the graphic quality of it with my clock.   Kirsten has a family blog too....she has 5 ADORABLE KIDS and still finds time to decorate and craft.  OHHH she is the one that got me started on crock pottin it......which has saved me quite a few times with the "whats for dinner" syndrome we have around this house.  Anywhooooo..  I just added a few symbols of Spring around.....birds...of course....I threw in some vintage cash register pieces into the nest my son bought me....I LIKE JUNK.   That is me.   OLD Stuff....makes me happy.   Welll that is it for me tonight...I am sure I will be back with more cards.    I am a card freak.  Well...paper freak....another "makes me happy".   Just can't help it guys.   Hugs to you all!  XoXo, Cherry

  2. Cherry, that looks so nice. I
love what your friend made for
    you....does she make them to
sell??? I also love your boxes
    with Love, Laugh, and Live.

I agree with you about not
    having the desire to decorate
    when you are planning/hoping to
move....we are kind of in the
same boat. It does inspire me
to do some decorating when I see
what you and others have done.

    Keep making those cards. I
    love them!

  3. Fun mantel!

We have moved so 4 times in the past 12 years and sometimes I lose my desire to decorate a home just because I don't fall in love with my houses anymore. I always think, "oh well, we'll just move once I get it all decorated anyway." Have been in this house 2 1/2 years and still not totally into decorating it. ugh.

  7. Looks beautiful Cherry, is this your foyer? I know what you mean about decorating but feeling in that "transition" mode. I felt that way for awhile and then said forget it! Now we finally are all set and I'm in spruce up for sale mode!! UGH!

  8. Love your decorating style. I like the little number trinkets that you placed in the nest. That small touch adds a lot.

  12. it looks wonderful. at times it can be hard to feel inspired.i have days and weeks like that. go cut or buy some flowers, turn on some music, light some pretty spring candles, make a nice cold or hot drink, and go for it (creat). baking bread does the trick too. the smell of fresh baked bread can put me in a great mood :) enjoy your day.

  15. I hope you never tire of making cards because I promise you, I will never tire of looking at them. The Mother cards you created are exceptional! I think your version of sprucing up your home looks so good. You are fortunate to have a friend like Kristen. The two of you produced a beautiful, artsy looking mantel.
