Winter Wonderland...

Was your Christmas Merry?  I hope so!  We had a nice little time together.  Lots of good food....too much good food.  I must get back to my original routine soon.   I wanted to pop in for a bit...I have some exciting news!  I was asked to join the Riddersholm design team.   I am so excited...ecstatic more like.   Connie's papers are so soft, shabby, and full of vintage charm.  I love the fact that they come all the way from Denmark.  A place I hope to visit someday....would love to see Scandinavia.
Since Christmas is over till next year...I created a few cards with more of a Winter theme.  Her papers are versatile enough to use for many creations.  I love the idea of winter greeting cards...ridding a friend of the Winter blahs....bring a smile to her face.   My cards use the papers from "A Christmas story".   Gorgeous winter whites.   I also used their wooden trees and ribbons.  All of which you can find in the store. I love to paint or ink the trees and add glitter to them.  Hope you enjoy...and make sure to go visit the Riddersholm blog if you are not familiar with the product line.

In other news...I am excited to share I was published in scrap and stamp magazine's  up coming March issue and Northridge publishings July issue of create.  Which I got not to long ago.  I guess it can take awhile to get.  I am also in the upcoming issue of Create in January.   I was so scared to start submitting but am so glad I have tried it now.  It takes a lot of time...sometimes you get in and other times you don't.  I have not alloted a lot of time to submitting yet..but plan to do more of it in the upcoming year.  Give it a try if you havn't yet.  Well Happy soon to be New Year to you!  I hope you have enjoyed my creations....hugs, cherry

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Merry christmas to you...and Happy soon to be New Years day!  Welllll....the ingredients for my pumpkin pies are laying out and ready.  Sugar cookies and fudge are done...and as you can see we are NOT Martha Stewart!  LoL.  But....they taste delectible.  I can attest to that...since I have already had 7 cookies since last night.   Most of the presents are wrapped and under the tree.   I snapped a few merry pics of are decked halls last night.   I also am sharing the last of my Christmas cards for the year.   Made for Pink Persimmon .   A snowy cottage and a candy cane confection!  Hope you enjoy...and where ever you are have a magical christmas!  Thank you to you all that take the time to visit.  I appreciate you all!  hugs, cherry

Gingham Valentine...

Merry christmas to you all!  I can't believe Christmas Eve is just a day away!  I am taking a break from baking to share a card tutorial  for Really Reasonable Ribbon .    A fun , frilly, feminine little number using gathered ribbon.   I used the pink gingham and grabbed a needle and thread and started stitching nice large stitches through the center of the ribbon.  I used approximately a yard of the gingham.  Once I was done I gathered it up by pulling the thread through and got it nice and ruffley.  Once I had it looking the way I wanted I covered my cardstock with my chosen papers.  From there it was just a matter of laying it out shaping it into a heart.  I used hot glue to adhere it down.  Now comes the fun part of adding fun little touches.  Paper borders, jellie dots, a couple of stick pins, and a fun banner with my sentiment.  What do you think?  I think it turned out pretty stinkin cute.  Hope you have enjoyed!   Well my friends...I am headed back to the kitchen to make my fantasy fudge.  Wish me luck!  Hugs, cherry

Baby its cold outside

Merry Christmas to you all! I have a fun wintery shabby little snowman card to share today. I used the Baby It's cold outside stamp set. So cute! Perfect to use right now in my neck of the woods...it was 3 degrees this morning. Brrrr! So I stamped my image onto cardstock and than embossed it for a bit more detail. I than diecut some mini hearts and wound twine through them and gave Mr. Snowman a banner. I added some layered snowflakes, ribbons, and a mini tag with a rubon and was done. I think this card would be perfect to perk someone up from the Winter Blahs! Hope you enjoy! Cherry

Last Minute gift ideas...

Hello there my dears! Are you busy baking, shopping, and decking the halls?  This week over at the Epiphany Crafts blog we are sharing last minute gift ideas.  I decided to create some shabby ornaments. Something that the recipient can bring out year after year. I know I love to unwrap each ornament and think about the memories associated with it. I started with  some sizzix snowflake die cuts that I cut out of chipboard and layered them twice. I than covered them with papers. I added a felt snowflake on top of that. From there I added ribbons, bells, and added some gorgeous bling to the bottom to jingle jangle! The main images were cut with the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Shape Studio Tool and covered with the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Bubble Caps which I inserted into some antique bottle caps for a fun vintage look. I love the shabby vintage look these have…hope you do too!
Merry Christmas to you all, Cherry

Christmas has gone to the dogs....

Yep...Christmas has gone to the dogs....and errrr Cats.   Had to throw in a picture of Bailey...he looks quite merry don't ya think?   I have a fondness for Scotties and terriers in general.  I don't own any..but admire them from a far.   I did grow up with a fox terrier and they are adorable but quite the little devils.   So as you can see my projects involve some adorable little images of doggies...all from Pink Persimmon of course.  I used both the Scottie dog and the little cuties set.  They have both captured my heart.   So fun to create with...for any holiday or for every day.
I created a couple of tags ...piled on the paper die cuts and added some embossing with an argyle pattern.  Than topped them off with ribbons, greenery, and glittered ornaments.   Added a few  teeny tiny red jingle bells and was done!  The other project involves pillow boxes.  Which have become my new obsession.  Love to dress them up.  More of the same...die cuts, ribbons, and fun little doodads.  I did a wee bit of coloring of each doggies collars for a pop of red.    Well my darlins....I need some shut eye.  I have more basketball games in my near future.   Hope you are all enjoying the festivities that come at this time of year.  Hope you enjoyed!   Night night, cherry

Time for blog hoppin with RRR

Hi there everyone!  Are you ready for a fun blog hop? Grab some coffee and take a break from the hustle and bustle of christmas and visit RRR for some great inspiration.  We are all sharing our projects using this months Ribbon club  assortment.   Now you should have found your way here from My gal Gloria's .  If you didn't...or you got lost.. just start at the RRR link above if you wish.    I was in the mood for tags...so tags it was.   I made two diffrent sets.   I loved pairing the pinks with the aqua blues for the first set of tags.   The second set I used the pink satin again and the grosgrain pink polk dot.   These colors really made me happy...it was fun to have some bright candy colors to create with since Winter sits right outside my door!  I also got to play with some yummy buttons from the store.  I love these berry hued colors...and they worked perfectly with the ribbon club ribbons.   Hope you enjoyed my projects!  Your next stop on the blog hop is Ms Heather !  Ok guys...I am off to visit everyone!   hugs, cherry

Last minute goodies...

Am I the only one that will feel sad to put away the christmas crafts?   I hate to see it go.  Today is my day at Really Reasonable Ribbon and I had to make more than one goody.  Just had too!  My first project is a cute gingerbread plaque.....a gingerbread couple and their house!  I used shimmer satin in red  as my hanging ribbons and accented the house with Anastasia white crochet lace, velvet trim in red  and white mini ric rac.  My next little project are a couple of mini treat bags....always good to have some around.  Fill with some candy and they make a perfect hostess gift or quick gift for a neighbor.   I adorned mine with some diecuts, stickers, felt pieces, and my favorite seam bindings.    I used red and green seam bindings and a little bit of jute string through my jingle bells .    Not to late to create some goodies for christmas and deck those halls!  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry
