Frilly and girly

Hello!  How is your week going?  Summer here is slow to start....lots of rain.  Which is great for card making I guess.   I have a card to share today made for TRC.  I used the BE stylish stamp set.  Fun image to fussy cut out.  I stamped it in chocolate ink and added just a smidgeon of color with some Tim Holtz distress markers.  I always love to add foam adhesive to the back of images like this to add dimension.   I used Maya road tulle and chiffon rose ribbons to add a sassy bottom to the corset.  This stamp also provides good opportunity to add some cotton candy jellie dots for buttons.  I added a vintage buckle and vintage mother of pearl buttons from my stash.  I added my sentiment at the bottom using the Happy Birthday script stamp .    Great card to give to any girl friend on her birthday or a family member.  Fun, frilly, and girly.  Hope you enjoy!  Happy Wednesday. cherry

Happy day

Happy day!  Today is my day over at the RRR blog.  I have a peppy little number to share!  I used one of my fave color combos...pink and grey.   I made a handmade pinwheel and layered it with a sweet Crate Paper chipboard piece.  Perfect sentiment to go along with a special someone's birthday.   To top my pinwheel off I used silver and baby pink  seambinding.  I also added tails to the bottom using chevron stripe twill ribbon .  It seemed like something was missing so I used some of my new favorite lace....lyndsay white crochet lace.   So sweet.   Hope you enjoy and your summer is going swell!  hugs, cherry

Sunshine....

Where is the sunshine......cloudy here...and on the first day of Summer too! Bummer!   I have a fun little colorful number to share with you made for Vintage Street Market.  I used papers from Crate paper and the family fun paper kit. .   I had fun creating my own sunshine using a wood circle that I stamped my sentiment onto and added "rays" too using some paper scraps and a bingo craft card .  I topped it off with a vintage red button.  I added some diecut clouds for dimension and ribbons of course.   I love the bright happy look to this...and of course the red and aqua.  I never tire of this combo...one of my very favorites.  Hope it is shining sunshine where ever you are! Happy Summer to you all.  hugs, cherry

Happy Birthday....

Craving something shabby?   I  was today so I put together this fun little pink number using TRC goodies!  I used the bingo card stamp first.  I stamped it onto pink argyle patterned paper and embossed it using white embossing powder.
I layered it with a diecut layered heart, muslim ruffles, and a wood clock to signify time.   I added some cute fabric pendant stickers from Cosmo Cricket at the bottom along with some  vintage buttons.  I added pink and rose seambindings, a mother of pearl button, and stick pins.  My sentiment is the Happy Birthday script.  It has a sweet undulating design.  I love the fun whimsical design......Hope you enjoy!  cherry

seeing dots....

We have a fun challenge over at Reallly Reasonable Ribbon...   SEEING DOTS.   I used a polka dot big bitty bag of course.   I decked it out with embossing, sewn crepe ruffles, diecut cupcake and 5/8 red gingham ribbon and two tone light blue ribbon.  Since the bag was bigger than I wanted I simply folded it over cut a hole in it and tied my ribbon through  it.   Now is is ready for candy!  Hope you enjoy!  cherry

Hi there!  Time for another blog hop with RRR.  You should have found your way here from Gloria's blog .  We got to play with some sweet summery ribbons.  I made one into a rolled bloom...which ended up becoming the whole sentiment as well!  I also added several of the ribbons as a border.  I added seam binding in summer rose and rose petal  as well.  A cute  blueberry button nestles inside one of the Os. Hope you like!  Your next stop along the way is Heather's blog.  Have fun and get inspired!  cherry

BRAVE....freedom

Hello there!   I have a little patriotic bingo card tutorial for you using fun RRR ribbons.  I usually start by grabbing things in a general theme and piling them on my desk.  Any thing that grabs my eye I grab...I usually don't end up using it all but like to have all options open.  My next step of course was the base, my bingo card...and than I started with my wood flag and than layering things on top.  I love to add a lot of depth to my altered pieces.  I used 3d foam tabs  from Tombow for my dimension. I added my freedom sentiment along with the tinsel and crepe papers.  I threaded both 5/8 red gingham and  red seam binding through the top and added mother of pearl buttons.  Before adding my buttons.. I added some softness with the Alison white crochet lace .  From there I just added a trio of blueberry pie buttons and white buttons wound with blue berry bakers twine.  I added a vintage mother of pearl buckle to the middle with more gingham and I was done.   I think with altered pieces more than with cards you have more options for depth and using things that might be a bit too heavy for cardstock.  That is why I love to create altered pieces.  Hope you enjoy....get those patriotic pieces on display!   hugs, cherry

Kitschy cherry love...

Thanks so much for the comments on Ms. Mippy!  Yes her name has stayed the same...with an emphasis on the MS.  NO Cleo.   Today is my day over at Vintage Street Market.   We were sent some of these sweet little vintage Ice cream cups.   I knew as soon as I saw it I wanted to create a mini pincushion.
I already had the cherry fabric and I used a bit of polyfil .  From there I sewed a vintage red button to the middle to tuft it a bit.  I added some stick pins including a cherry charm, some ribbon, and a button.  I also added a scallop diecut to the bottom using chipboard and a Bingo craft card.
I of course had to make a matching little card using more Bingo craft cards and a few pattern papers from October Afternoon's Midway and paper from the family fun paper kit.  Well what do you think?  Kitschy cute?  I think so!  Had a lot of fun with this....maybe I am partial since my name is rather fruity too!  Off to a graduation now!  Thanks for letting me share!  cherry

Hello happy Wednesday!  I took baby kitty (Mippy) to the vet..... HE is a SHE.  Hmmmmmm that was an awkard moment in the vet's office.  So I guess  Mippy will be becoming a Cleo???   rofl!!!  I am NOT The only female in the house anymore!  Had to share a cute pic of Cleo hanging out....such a sweet baby when she is sleeping...but a holy terror when awake!  I have a fun patriotic card today made for TRC.
Love this sentiment stamp....God Bless America.  I embossed it using silver embossing powder and than colored it in a bit with a red faber castelle pen.   I love the subtle glitter around the edges.  I added pearls on either side to frame it.  Of course some layered stars, buttons, and distressed red seam binding round out the card.  I love red, white, and blue!  Hope you do too!  cherry
