Some finds from our Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale

I did well at the garage sale I had...enough to buy a new vacuum which was my goal. I had a little leftover and of course found some gems from some neighbors. Here are some things I couldn't say no to. Any rec. on vacuums would be appreciated. I have been looking at the Eureka Boss, it got good ratings on Eopinions.com. Our old one is a Hoover Windtunnel and it has lasted a good 9 yrs. What are your views on bagless versus bags? The old picnic basket is HUGE & I couldn't resist the hat for a 1.00. The suitcases have seen many an adventure....as telling from the labels and grime....but oHHHH how I love them. The black one still has the keys and says "Victoria's suitcase". The sweet Dutch children work so well with my marble lamp! Of course the keys on a ring cought my eye for a whoppin .50. I have more I will share tomorrow! So fun to not have to even leave my neighborhood and find the type of things I love and cherish! Terrific Tuesday to all! xoxo, cherry

Wonderful goodies you found! As far as vacs go, I have an Oreck and love it. I don't like bagless, they have always been hard to clean for me.

I have the Dsyson and although it picks up great and I do love the bagless feature it has its bad points. It is clumnsy when you go to use the hose attachment to vaccum. Also the hose they show being used up stairs but although the hose will reach that far it is stiff and you have to pull. Also watch that the vaccume of any kind is not too hard and or heavy to steer if you have any wrist problems. The bigger vacumes are clumsy that way. The newest consumer reports I think..or the one before rates the vacums ...check it out. Dyson is not rated that high. Also make sure they demonstrate it picking up things at the edge of the carpet {against a wall}with both the front and the side of the vaccum...lots of them do not and this is so frustrating. Make sure YOU vaccum with it and try to change the tools etc while in the store. I Love your blog!!

Hi Cherry: Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! Nice to meet you! Been browsing your site - lovely! I come from a british family that loves to laugh at ourselves, each other and life - so I am afraid you will have to put up with it if you are brave enough to browse! Added ya to my links so I can check back in. Love, Esther

Well, finally! Good to see you are back, I"ve been checking every day. And you found some great stuff!

Hope you great a great vacuum. I bought a kirby in a desperate moment years ago. Great vacuum, but very heavy and ridiculously expensive. I am sure there is something better and more reasonably priced!

Take care!

I just love old keys! At my parents house, every door requires a skeleton key in order to be locked. I keep one on my key chain from the days when hubby and I lived there between the sale of one house and the purchase of another. The key to our "suite". Blessings... Polly
