So maybe Picasso would turn in his grave seeing my "proposed art"...but hey it works for me. I am one that has a hard time drawing a stick figure.. so real art isn't gonna happen in my household. But with a little imagination and some supplies the sky is the limit . I gathered up what I had around the house and went to work. The one think I love about scrapbooking is it can be used for sooo many things...other than layouts. I used my old stamps that I got at the garage sale to stamp the C. I thought the font was cute. This is in my craft room so my initial works well here. I found that black frame as is on Tuesday at St. Vinnies for .50 and framed some scrapbook paper, buttons, and a little French enamel piece that says Family. The bird art is just a chipboard oval frame covered with paper, a diecut bird silhouette, seam binding, and more buttons. The oval frames were painted out and one I put a pearl initial in (from Michaels dollar section) hung it with ribbon and a vintage belt loop and the other is a rub on and more buttons. I have a few more projects like this to do but the ones you see took less than a few hours of playing around last night around midnight. I am a night owl. Boy am I gonna miss my late night frolics when school starts. Sigh...... I will be gone for the next couple of days on vacation. Going to the beach so I won't be around. I am excited to do a little shopping and sight seeing. Will miss you guys and hope you like my lo0se interpretation of art. What do you have lying around the house that could be art? Rofl, cherry I wanted to add a thank-you to Angela over at http://thehappyhomebody.blogspot.com/ for giving me this award
I give it out to all my blog buddies....I feel so blessed to be apart of such a kindred fellowship. Thanks Angela!

You may not be Picaso, but that art is great! Your creative spirit shines through in everything I've seen. Jackie
I love checking in to see what you have come up with! Love the "art"...that's my speed too. I am def not an artist but I could do some of the ideas you've shown here.
Also, love the cabinet you got for a whole $12!
All your ideas are so cute and they look like they could easily be moved from place to place throughout your home. I love the black table and the jar filled with your stamps! The ribbon around the jar is so sweet. Just that little touch says so much!
I love your art! :) I think it all looks just beautiful! I saw the frame with the rub on and just had to say that I just discovered those last weekend! (I got creative with them last night in a similar way.)

Thanks for your comment.
oh I love them all, i wish I had some good scrapbook supplies to use for other projects lol
I love all of your ideas but especially the oval frame with the pearls. That is just very elegant and so Audrey Hepburnish.
By the way love your blog and your home and all of your projects , lovely , you have a very wonderful eye for accessories , I could use one of those shutters , I am hitting the flea market on Sunday .
Are you kidding? Picasso has stirred in his grave and scratching at the top to get out and scream, "why in the sticking world did I spend thousands of hours painting when I could have done this?" :)
I love you blog. Thanks for stopping by mine. You have a great eye. I can't paint either, but that's the great thing about scrapping and collaging- just take some stuff and put your spin on it!
Scapbook paper is a wonderful thing. Love all your little art.
I love all your art pieces! Graphic and shabby! Love that they are all very easy looking and affordable too.

Hi Cherry :)
I had a great time catching up with you! LOVE all the projects you did in the last few posts. I don't know if I could paint the inside of that cabinet. Maybe paper the back and paint just the shelves? Just a thought :)
Have fun on your getaway!!
Its art if you say it is. I love it!! You are so creative. Who needs stick figures, anyway?
Your art is beautiful. Where is everyone finding their cool paper at? I can never find cute stuff like that and Utah is loaded with srapbook stores.
OH why can't I click on your pictures and make them big?!? Pleeease give me that option. I want to study your beautiful home.
And speaking of wants...I want to know where you got that cute, cute, cute french sign. I think I neeeed it!

I espescially love the "C"-those stamps were such a find. I love the round red frame! Rock on girl!
I so enjoy your ideas and also am a stamper/scrapbooker. I'm working on Fall cards for a swap. Thanks for more ideas. Enjoy your time with your family.

So pretty!! I love it all!!
Wish you lived closer too!!
Hi again Cherry,
I don't sell on Etsy, just in shops, and right off of my blog.
Funny, I love Halloween too, and I collect decorations. If you check back through my blog you will see, and I can email you some pictures if you send me your email address.
I'm like you, I can barely draw a stick figure, but although Picasso might not consider your items art, I sure do. (Like them even better than his messed up pieces.) I really love how you use ordinary items such as scrapbook paper and store bought pearl initials and make them your own. Very clever and unique, yet beutiful!
Okay, I have several of those pearl letters and I ADORE how you've elevated them to a whole new level! In fact, I just bought some yesterday for a hostess gift and am now going to do some elevating of my own! Thank you for a fabulous idea!
I am totally with you on that concept. I can really go to town with my scrapbook paper. Love it!
Beautiful projects! I'm in awe of your work!
I think you need more paragraph breaks, because I'm having a hard time reading your typing. Love your photos! You're amazingly crafty.
I bought some Modge Podge yesterday and I'm ready to try my hand at some of the craftiness I've seen online! Brilliant stuff! There's some very cool ABC cutouts at my local Wal-mays.
Even though I'm a 100% digi scrapper, I still love the actual scrapbook paper. I buy it just so I can stare at it.
Can I borrow your brain for just an evening? Awesome!!
Thanks so much for this post! I've had some scrapbook paper and frames that I've been meaning to decorate with it for a while now, but just haven't gotten around to yet. You've just given me the inspiration to get to work on my project.
I'm going to have to get me some scrapbook paper!
Well, now I have a use for all that extra scrapbook paper I have.
Oh yes, if I had the stamina you seem to have. I've had some canvas and paper lying around calling my name for a project... I think you just inspired me to go put it together and see what I can create! Love the scrapbook frame, where'd you find the frame?
Thanks for sharing these projects!!
Those are very cute! Mister Man came downstairs as I was looking at them (quiet play time for a bit right now) to ask me to snap his pants and was really impressed, too!
I love all your decor! Way cute ideas, but the details are fantastic! The forks holding a picture? Never would have thought of that on my own (I copy a lot)--so cute!
Hi Cherry. This is amazing! So simple and yet so effective. I have a craft room that started with scrapbooking and now involves sewing, crocheting and many other things. I am amazed what can be achieved from my stash! From last-minute presents, cards to helping the boys to do amazing school projects. Love your ideas!
I love simple things, and by saving money you can change out your artwork frequently! Love all the black and white.
Sooo crafty! I'm jealous! But at least your here for inspiration. Thanks!
The framed "C" is absolutely divine. I have got to do this for my girls' rooms. Thank you for sharing your elegant ideas. Wow.
Sooo inspiring...love the birds and initials.
Seriously...can I move in to your house? I won't even bring the kids, I swear.
I like your art. It's creative, beautiful, and doesn't break the bank. Good idea!
Do I dare look at the 3rd post on SITS? You are so talented!
I think you've got a great eye. Some very pretty stuff. Happy SITS Friday.
I love your scrapbook-paper art! I love to use it to mat photos, and I found some so pretty I might just frame it as is. Your black-and-white papers look so classy!
You are so very talented. I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog!
Happy SITS day!
So glad to know I'm not the only one who frames scrapbook paper. My favorite this year is an 8x10 frame with cool paper and the letter "B" in the middle, then a split frame with cool paper and the letter "O" in each section. I don't think it translates in writing very well though...
i also LOVE to frame scrapbook paper!!! You make it look soooo pretty!
I don't draw well either. But I have progressed up to stick figures, it's taken awhile. I've started a group for people who wish they could draw, one week each month we doodle and share our creations. Came here from The Secret is in the Sauce.
In your hands it absolutely is.
wow - great work - I am you - no can draw but love to create - I'd best sort my gear and get going ... I feel an urge coming on - cheers le
Once again some beautiful pieces here! Thank you so much for the creative inspiration.
All your scrapbook art is awesome! Congrats on being SITS FRiday fav!!!!
