Scissors...they're not just for cutting....

If you have been around here in my neck of the woods long enough...you know I like to frame just about anything...and call it "art". Awhile back I found several old scissors at a local thrift store. They are small & blunt so I assume they must have been used by children. I thought of little chubby fingers cutting out images and what not. These scissors I am rest assured, made many a art piece over time. I knew than, their true destiny, was framing. A little paper and some frames I already had and they are now indeed framed. Not sure where their home will be but for now I set them next to the sweet nest my son bought me. Just because.
I also found homes for my new glass cloche and white tray I shared in my last post. I found the little white bowl while out and about thrifting. I set some transferware and eggs in it. The little ducklings you see peeking out are actually ones I have had since I was a little girl. My mother always put some kind of Easter glass ware in my basket. I love their simple white goodness. The wreath I got for 2.00...I decided to hang from my mirror with some bird toile ribbon. Last but not least the thrifted wicker shade...another well spent 2.00 at Goodwill. My rooster approves of the change, as do I! Well that is it for me. Happy Weekend! XOXO, Cherry

Well, you definitely have a winner with those scissors framed, sweetpea! That's adorable and very imaginative and creative. I'll have to remember that when I have "stuff" with no place to go or put!

It is early Saturday morning and you can imagine how excited I was to see that you had posted a new post. As soon as I saw those scisssors framed, my mind went immediately back to elementary school and the scissors that we all used in those days. What fun to have that thought again, and what a good idea to frame them for others to be directed to a place they might not go often in their thoughts. Once again, all of your displays are so creatively done, and coordinate perfectly. I like how you share your Goodwill and flea market finds. I am into that too. Another beautiful post!

Those scissors would be so cute above a child's craft area! Can I ask how you actually mounted them to the paper, to get them to stay? Thanks for a super cute idea!

Hi I found you through Jill at Hickory Hollow. I love your decorating ideas. The scissors remind me of a pair that I still own from when I was a little girl. They came with a cute little craft apron (that I now wish I still had). They would look great framed. Thanks again for the creative ideas!

You totally amaze me with your creativity. I have an old pair that belonged to my grandmother. She used them to cut out buttonholes after she stitched them. They have such wonderful sentiment to me. I think I may frame them. Thank you for sharing.
