Spring is a coming!

Helllllllo there! Cherry here for my first ever Rubber Cafe post!

I am sooo excited to share a couple of sweet Springy cards with you today. With Spring around the corner that means fresh strawberries are not that far off either. So with Spring and strawberries on the mind.. I turned to several stamp sets to get my spring fever on.

I started with the Mini Jar Stamp Set, which is absolutely adorable. This is my new favorite stamp, love the old fashion feel to it. It speaks to my vintage heart. I love the size of it ....it has so much versatility.

I actually made two cards with it to share today.. I have many ideas for this stamp and will be sharing even more soon. The first card I wanted a simple but shabby feel to this card so I stamped the lid and ruffle onto some floral papers and used pinking sheers to make little squares for my strawberries using the same papers.

I stamped the base of the jar onto some graph paper, I didn't want anything too busy. I fussy cut them both out and than was ready to start dressing the jar up with the strawberries!

The strawberries I used both on the tea stained tag and jar come from the Fruit Medley stamp set. As does the sweet sentiment, which I chose to use on the inside. If you find the sentiment does not fit on the outside of your card, don't be afraid to use it on the inside. I think it adds a bit of surprise and detail.

I stamped the fruit onto more graph paper and cut them out. I wanted to fancy them up a bit so I used some You're So Fine Glitter in Diamond Clear . I also used a colored pencil to add a bit of green to the stems. Other than that I used a bit of my beloved crinkle ribbons, a tea stained tag with more sweet strawberries stamped with more glitter, and some buttons and that is that!

I thought I would also show you another way to go with the Mini jar set shown below. This time more shabby with a sewing theme using mini spools and fabric pieces.

I also fussy cut the jar but added foam adhesive to the back for dimension.

Well that is it for me. Hope you enjoyed my take on the mini jar set and my first post here at TRC! Can't wait to come back soon!

Hugs,
