Guess what?

I know nuttin too exciting....I am a stinker!  Just wanted to share..that my dh is cooking dinner and I am in here getting to play!  Does not happen often...but take advantage of it when I can.  Bless his heart!  Salmon..yum.  Well here are a few Saturday night shares.  Some cards in my fave blue and red combo.  Must speak to my scandavian heart.  Than true to my nature...a few altered plaques.  I did a large one last night and had so much fun adding more embellishments since there was more room to work with.  Don't know what I would do without my chipboard!  Hope you enjoy and sure hope your weekends are going well!  Too fast for me!  Last night ws sooo thrilling my son made the winning shot for his team.  It almost went into over time.  He was a regular little Coby Bryant.  His team was so happy...third game and first win.  Will be good for their morale!  Well off I go to go ear salmon...not made by me...yea!  xoxo, cherry

Count Your Blessings..

I wanted to post tonight  two cards I was able to create because of my dear online buddy Audrey!  As you know we did a little fun trade.  She sent me some of the prettiest diecuts....from k & Companies new Christmas line.  I think she knew they would make my heart sing!  Thanks again Audrey!  If you haven't ever visited Audrey go pay her a visit http://audreypettit.wordpress.com/ She shares her talent for card making and decorating.   She loves to go antiquing like I do too!  Well ...I hope to do a little relaxing this evening.  We have our fireplace going and it is fun to watch and just let your thoughts drift a bit.  I have to admit I have been a bit frazzled with my big girl job and other duties, as well as my son's basketball season.  He has to get up at 5:30 in the morning for practice which means we drive him 17 miles to his school.  Than 3 games a week.  Oyyyyy!  He loves it though...it is his passion.  It is fun to watch him grow in this love of his and my dh is so proud.  Thanks to all that have supported me!  I love to hear from you!  Hugs to you all, Cherry

Christmas overload

I went a little overboard yesterday with the Christmas cheer.  I spent all day Sunday creating.  So fun to get out all the Christmas collections and play till my hearts content.  Got a few new goodies at Michaels as well.  As usual I am sharing it all at once...time constraints.  How are your crafts coming along?  Gettng things done?  I don't think I will get everything done...I never seem too...but it sure is fun trying!  Well I am off to bed....morning comes way to early to this girl.   xoxo,c herry

Poppin in..

Wish I could pop in like Mary Poppins....sure would be quicker.  Had my second day of work today.....honestly??  I am not use to getting up quite soooo early.  Went to bed last night at 9:00!  Very unlike me.  top it off....it has been snowing here like the dickens.  I am not ready for it!  At least driving in it.  Well enough blubbering....my dear dear talented friend Audrey http://audreypettit.wordpress.com/ sent me a care package.  We decided to do a swaparoo.  She sent me the most wonderful things...see the big pile up above?  YEP ALL OF THAT!  I finally created a little bit and made that card up above.  Thanks so much Audrey!  I will continue to share more as I get it made.
The other little project I wanted to share is this house I finally got done!  I have so much fun making these little cottages.  I actually started making them way before you could find any to alter.  I use to use paper mache bird houses as the cottages and alter and glitter them.  So glad they are easier to find now.  Love to add sweet little toppings.  I went full tilt Christmas with this one.  Of course had to add some glitter to it! As always my seambinding is from http://www.etsy.com/shop/PrairieBirdBoutique!  Well that is it for me tonight.  Luckily tomorrow I have off but will have to go and get groceries and do errands.  Thank-you so much for the well wished!  hugs to you all, Cherry

Christmas is a comin! GCD Studios style!

Hi guys!  Cherry here for a fun GCD Studios post...using the lovely paper collection Joyful Peace.  I used 5 of the  papers in this collection-The holly and the ivy, Fa la la la la, Comfort and joy, Candy Lane, and Peppermint and also a gorgeous button from the artsy urban line..  I really wanted to run with the whole old world vintage look and decided to add a rosette to one of my cards.  You can use an y type of paper...I used crepe paper.  You cut a piece (any size you want really depending on card size)  about 2 inches x 12 inches long and start gathering it in your fingers till it creates acircle.  I take a circle punch and glue it to the back of the rosette to keep it together.  You can add glitter to the edges, ink the edges for aging, or spray a bit of glimmer mist for a subtle sparkle....play around and have fun.  Another technique I used was buying some  mini envelopes(look in the office supply section) and I tea-stained them using tea.  I love adding elements like this to cards for something different. Well there you have it give it a try. I guarantee it will get you in the Christmas spirit!  hugs, Cherry

It's a coming!

Not to skip thanksgiving.....I love Thanksgiving but Christmas always seems to sneak up on me.  Does it you?  I will be working and sharing Christmas items with you for the next month..,hopefully you don't grow tired of it.  I also hope you understand my need to share projects and my etsy store here....when I have sales etc.   This little venture of mine that I never thought would go anywhere really helps  my family in times of need.  I don't usually share intimate family things with you...I enjoy sharing fun things etc.  Who needs a downer in this economy?  I just want to say thank-you to those that have supported my humble little store.  It is greatly appreciated.   I have so much gratitude towards my etsy customers....many of which have become friends of mine.  I can't imagine not being able to share.....creating is as much apart of me as breathing.  Paper crafting has filled a void for me...it centers me.  Sometimes I feel guilty for not showing my house more....that is how I started this little blog.  But it is what it is....my blog has evolved.  There is only so much time in a day.  I know one thing...this is a blog that will never have a bunch of adds.....I think many of you call it a blog of integrity?  I see several blogs that have become like one  big advertisement...I can't even find the blog entry to read it!   Well I hope I didn't scare anybody off.....was not my intentions.  I will get off my soapbox.  I do want to share I am having a card sale over at my etsy store. Buy 3 or more cards and receive free shipping.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/cherryjn  and that about covers it!  I hope you all are having a wonderful Fall!  Hugs, cherry
