Happy girl...

Greetings to you all! Feel like I have not been around much.   I am a bit of a frazzled wreck ..feeling out of sorts.  Winter blahs I suppose...even though it isn't officially Winter yet. So I have been grabbing the chocolate.  It cures everything right?
I am always happy though when I get to share Pink Persimmon   goodies with you.   A good way to cheer one up!   The first card was made using Happy Girl  and Vintage greetings stamps.   I love anything to do with sewing.  Reminds me of my  Mom.  Something so homey and warm about it.  I love the Happy girl stamp (including the name)....so many things you can do with it....fill the inside with buttons, flowers, another stamped image.  So fun!  I kept mine soft and feminine.  I fussy cut her little dress to add a bit of detail.  Added a few little touches..ribbons, tiny millinery flowers, and my sentiment.    The other card uses what may just be my all time favorite stamp...sweet heart silk card .  The size of it is larger and makes a great backdrop for other things.   I chose to wrap mine with lots of yummy seam binding...kinda mimicking silk embroidery thread.  I added a big rose cabochon and vintage stick pin..and couldn't help but add a mini tag with a stamped cameo image from the mini silhouette set for a bit of added vintage goodness!  Well that is it for me...can't wait to share other projects using these stamp sets!  Make sure you check out the Pink Persimmon blog for more inspiration.   I am always in awe on how others create with the same stamps and their unique take on them.   Night, night!  Hugs, cherry

Winter tree.....

Hi there Cherry here to share a card using the Pine tree stamp. Which is on sale right now! I peeked around a bit and saw some great sales over at TRC.
I knew I wanted try some faux snow on this stamp the first time I used it and decided today was the day! I stamped it in white ink first and let it dry. I than used a small paint brush and lightly went over the image with snotex. Other than that I added my layers, ribbons, and some little details like the red jellie dots. This would be lovely all in blues for a Winter look as well.  Well I am going to bed!  My son's first highschool basketball game is tommorow....freshman on the varsity team.  so proud of him!    Hope you enjoy! cherry

Christmas Bow tutorial

How was your Thanksgiving?  Mine was lovely and simple.  Lots of yummy food and the blessings of my Mom, Dad, husband, and son...and of course the animals.  We gathered around and ate and than chit chatted.  So thankful for simple times like that. They are the memories I hold most dear.  Hope yours found you well and happy...and full of pumpkin pie!
Now that thanksgiving has passed, it is definantly time for full on holiday crafting. Have you started?  You better get to crackin....it will be here in a New York second.   It always comes faster and faster each year. You can never have to many holiday cards in your arsenal. With cards comes bows..so I thought I would share my bow method again using my beloved red seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon  .  You know me and my cheating...it is so much easier to use separate bows... and for me the best way to go about getting that perfectly imperfect crumpled look I love.  I did a full wrap around on this card...wrapping all the way around the cardstock and tieing a bow near the top.  I wasn't too concerned with the first bow.  I than added a few of my paper diecuts to the card base.  Than.. as you can see in the second pic I tied my second bow and adhered it.  I use hot glue.  I am too impatient to wait.  I always hold it there for a second with my finger right in the center which causes the ribbon around the bow to "poof" up..which I like.  I also sometimes will wet a paper towl just a smidge and wrap  my ribbon in it lightly to crumple it up again.  I notice sometimes when you start playing with it it can start to straighten back out .  I usually use two separate bows..but once in awhile will add a third if it is not full enough.  The trick is to alternate the bows so they criss cross each other.  Easy peasy.  From there it was just a matter of adding my goodies to the card and I was done!  I would love to hear if you tried this and it worked for you!  Hope you enjoy..and I didn't confuse you too much!  Happy craftin and hugs, cherry

Christmas love........

Hello back today as promised with a card for TRC .  I decided to challenge myself to create a Christmas card in a new to me color scheme...I came up with soft greens and browns.   I don't think I have ever used this combo...kinda like it! The lighting today is horrible though so please bare with me.   I used pattern papers and leaned on my stamps to create interest at the bottom.  I used the berry branch from the Christmas tidings set and also took the christmas word from the set and stamped as a border right above.  I created a ornament of sorts cutting a circle and stamping the holly berries from the set inside around the edges and than glittering the image.  Added a layer on top with a heart and the word LOVE.   I added a stamped ribbon/bow to the top of my ornament using the swirled ball with hanging ribbon stamp for a little more interest.  I fussy cut the bow twice and layered them together.  I like the soft effect the card has...hope you enjoy too!  Want to take the time to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving...hope you are able to enjoy time with your family and friends.  Hugs, cherry

Count your blessings...

Hello and Happy almost Thanksgiving!  I have done all my shopping and getting my supplies ready for my pies.  Making green bean casserole and stuffing of course! We will have rolls and mash tators of course...and perhaps some turkey ( ya think?)  Nothing fancy ..all good ole comfort food.  I have a couple of cards made for the Epiphany Crafts  blog.   I used some adorable Simple Stories Harvest collection.  I love this line...so sweet and full of country charm.  I used Epiphany Crafts pendants and circle bubble caps for my cards.  Great way to bring emphasis to your pattern papers or add detail to an area or white space that needs a little something.  It was so easy to bring each one together. I enhanced my banner by using the pendant bubblecaps. I love being able to repeat my paper patterns with the bubblecaps.
On the other card I used the round 25 at the top to add interest and clustered it with a ticket and mini paper clip for added interest at the top. It was so much fun to use one of the simple stories pockets on my card(I love these)…I tucked in a vintage recipe. Perfect for some Fall baking! Hope you enjoyed my Fall project.  Thanks for visiting and I will be back Wednesday for a post from TRC.  hugs, cherry

Don't PEEK!

Ever feel like you are moving in slow motion?  You look at the clock and another several hours have passed?  That is how this week has gone.  I go to do something...thinking.. ok something is getting accomplished...but it takes for----ever to get ONE thing finished .   Not to mention I am very seriously fighting a bug.  It has not completely taken over (airshield is my friend) but it is trying its darndest to settle in.   I had fun a couple of days back using random bits of this and that to create a couple of pockets.  I found these sweet LIFE pockets with the month on them.  One in green and one in blue.  Perfect for tucking things in.  You know how I like to tuck...I know you do too.  I did one in more traditional greens and reds..and the other  more shabby with a MF image on the front.  I love to make the tags.  Layering papers and diecuts.  I recently got the scallop spellbinders in squares.  I know...they are so last year but I only let myself buy them when I can get them really cheap.   My collection is slowly growing.  I used plenty of rrr ribbon ...yummy seam bindings.  Homemade paper fringes.  Lots of older collections mixed together.  Using what I have for the most part.  Wellllllllllllllllllll....I am off to take another round of airshield.   Than,..off to bed.  Hope you enjoy!  Sweet dreams,  hugs, cherry

November Blog hoppin with RRR

Are you in for a treat today!  It is the RRR blog hop showcasing December's new ribbons of the month. If you are hoppin along you should have come from Ms. Gloria's blog.  It was definantly a treat for me to play with these...I fell in love with the flannel colors...just like a man's flannel shirt...warm, fuzzy, and old fashion.   Love using greys for winter and enjoyed the pop of red with it.  I made a card that could be both feminine and masculine depending on the view.  I added a bit of gold to my creation.  I have had this reindeer for awhile and decided it was time to use him.  Paired him with some gold stars and an antique jingle bell and now he has a new home!  I think he has come to life against the Christmas plaid.  What do you  think?  Your next stop along the blog hop is Ms. Heather !  I also added the links to all the girl's blogs...we have some new faces.  Make sure to visit them and their creations.  I can't wait to take a peek at all the goodies! Also there are some awesome prizes over at the store right now so take a look!  Enjoy!  hugs, cherry

The Sweet Goods..

Happy Monday to you and God Bless our Veterans! I am getting over a four day long birthday party for my son.  It has snowed so much that several of the boys stayed here so I have had a house full.   Boy can 15 year old boys eat a lot of food.  HOLY COW.
I am poppin in to share a few projects with you today that I made for RRR .   Some good ole homespun goodies.  I love gingerbread men....and who doesn't love cupcakes?  I guess there is a food theme here....but the gingerbread boys are too cute to eat.  Don't ya think?  I used lots of seam bindings .   I never ever tire of them.  Gorgeous crochet lace mixed with red velvet .  I also used some new to me ribbons...always fun to try something new.  I used jute string in red and white
and the cutest Christmas ribbon  reminds me of candy canes.  I used it to tie my tags with.
Well that is it for me....I think going to the grocery store is in my near future.  Thanks for visiting!  hugs, cherry
