Make a Wish....

I don't like having birthdays anymore...but I still like creating cards for the occasion!  Especially when they are whimsical and sweet.   I took a break from my Patriotic creations to play with these paper goodies.  Dipping into some old Crafty Secrets and papers from......yes.  Walmart.  Don't turn a blind eye to the scrapbook aisle there.  Sometimes you might just find a treasure.  Well......I am off to clean up my messy craft room.   Such a vicious cycle.....clean, messy, clean, messy.  I never learn.    Thanks for visiting!  Cherry

Little One..

Popping in real quick.....District track meet tomorrow!  This card was made for RRR.  Craving a bit of softness and these new papers fit the bill.   I used papers from Carte Bella and my RRR ribbons used are Molly White Crochet Lace, and Baby Pink and Bay Leaf seam bindings.  I also had to add a few little Sweetheart Blossoms in pink.  They were the perfect finishing touch!  Hope you enjoy, Cherry

RRR Blog Hop

Time for another fun blog hop with RRR!  You should have hopped over from kathy's blog.   If you find yourself lost, just start back at the RRR blog link above.  This month's ribbon club selections are  fantastic.  My fave colors to work with.  I created a bingo card that I altered with crepe paper, buttons, chipboard stars using a Sizzix diecut, an old image, and of course some of the fabby ribbons.   I also used some of the burlap string in navy.  Your next stop is back at the RRR blog.  Have fun and enjoy all the Patriotic inspiration !  Cherry

Old Glory

Well I am home from work....my feet are killing me!  We had a Mother's Day High Tea and it was fun but very hectic!  Tomorrow I leave for the coast for the night....my Mother's day gift to myself.  I am popping in real quick to share a couple of cards that have the Patriotic theme that I love so.  Memorial day is around the corner and the 4th not too far off from that.  I used old paper scraps, stickers, felt stars, and little fussy cut pieces to make my cards come to life.  These are some of my favorites I have ever made I think.  Sometimes they come together easily and other times not so much.  I used plenty of seam binding from RRR.  I really think I will never tire of it.  Ever.   Well that is it for me.  Happy Mother's Day to you all!  Cherry

Nesting instincts

Happy Tuesday to you all!   I have a sweet little rustic pincushion for you made for RRR.
I have loved anything to do with birds and nests for many years.  Maybe because I feel I have that nesting instinct in common with the birdies.   This time of year I like to freshen things up inside the house....clean and spruce things up.   So with nesting in mind, this little pincushion's base is a bird's nest.  I adhered some old muslin cloth filled with cotton batting to it and layered it with a vintage doily.  From there I wrapped 2 1/2 inch Cotton blend ribbon around it and tied a big chunky bow to the top.  I added some embellies....such as wood spools wrapped with more cotton blend plain ribbon and than added twill tape and some white seam binding I inked here and there for some aging.  I added a couple of little eggs to the top and was done!  I love the soft nuetrals and rustic chic quality to this!  Hope you enjoy, Cherry
