RRR shabby bloom tutorial

Hi there! I have a fun RRR tutorial to share today!   I have been wanting to try these blooms for awhile where you use a lighter to curl the edges up.   I knew my 1.5 inch silky crush white ribbon would be perfect to use for this.  I gathered up all my supplies and got going!  I free handed my cuts with the ribbon, cutting them into oval shapes to create rudimentary petals.  The lighter allows for a lot of forgiveness with the shapes.  As you can see from my picture you just use the lighter under each "petal" and let the heat curl the edges.  Once you have all your petals curled (I did about 10) you need to create a base for them.  I than punched a 1 1/2 inch circle for my base and than hot glued the petals on working my way around.  I than inked the edges to age it a bit.  I added a couple of satin leaves and than went to work adding some fun center pieces using different sizzix diecuts.  I added some vintage pearls to the center.
I decided to use my bloom on a pillow box.  I ran it through my die cutter and embossed it first.  I than wrapped some distressed baby pink seam binding around it and tied a big bow.  I added a vellum tag along with my sentiment and a gorgeous birdy cabochon and was done.  Can't wait to make more of these blooms!  Perfect birthday gift....tuck candy in or a gift card!  Enjoy!  Hugs, cherry

Time for another fun blog hop with RRR .   You should have found your way here from Gloria's blog.  If you get lost at anytime just start back at the RRR blog.  The monthly ribbon club assortment this month is just gorgeous!  Yummy pinks and browns.  It is called Pink and brown vintage.  I focused on the pink and lace from the assortment.  Still in a Summer mood (even though I have already started making Halloween goodies) shhhh don't tell.  Love strawberries and making strawberry cards.    I used a fun October Afternoon wild card and paired it with a strawberry diecut.  I added a bit of Tombow foam adhesive to add dimension to it.  I also added a couple of yummy Berrylicious buttons.  Beautiful colors!    Well that is it for me...your next stop is Heather's.  Have fun !   hugs, cherry

Diggin yellow!

Hello there!  I have a fun Summer card to share today here on RRR!  I don't know why, but I tend to shy away from yellow.  It is such a happy color and I find that I love it with navy. I need to use it more!  I used some fun scrap papers from my bin and added a bit of black chevron to add some pop.  I added a kraft little bitty bag  .   For my ribbons I added samantha white crochet lace to the bottom of the bitty bag along with washi tape.  I also added seam binding in Mimosa yellow.  This card would be great for a friend's birthday, you could tuck a star bucks card into the pocket as a gift.  Just fun and perfect for a special someone!  Hope you enjoy!  Cherry

Garden Fresh...

What is it about mason jars?   I never tire of them and filling them with "stuff'" on cards and in real life.   I made this for RRR using moss green and lipstick red seam bindings .   I had fun fussy cutting the mason jar out from a Crafty Secret image and than adding some goodies inside.  I added washi tape to the bottom along with Melina white crochet lace .  I stamped a little tag with my sentiment and tied it on with green apple twine .  I topped it off with a vintage strawberry button.  I love these fresh fruity colors!  Perfect for Summer..and maybe a Summer birthday?   Hope you enjoy!  Cherry

Wings challenge!

Sorry I have not been around much..Summer is moving full steam ahead and I with it!  We have been busy, busy.   We have an exciting journey ahead of us too and I am thrilled and getting prepared for it.  There is a fun new challenge over at RRR !   This  challenge is anything with wings ..with ribbon of course.  We would love to have you join in with us and link up your project over at the RRR blog.   I have been loving bright colors lately...and I can never get enough aqua and red.  I added red seam binding around the top half of my card for a pop of color and to balance my brads and buttons.  I used an oh so cute image from Gecko Galz.  I actually added chipboard to the back of it, sanded it, and than stitched it for fun.  I love to add chipboard to things.  Of course I had to have some wings...so I added little wooden dragonflies zipping around.   Well...as usual hope you enjoy and I will be back soon!  hugs, cherry
