Almost that time....

It is almost time.....for school.   How that can be, I just don't know, but true never the less.    Our nights are getting considerably cooler even though August is not yet passed.  I am always sad to see Summer go.  I am a true warm weather gal,  but love to create for the holidays.   I could not pass up making a few special school themed cards using very old images from an old primer.  I had hoarded it long enough.  I love to create with truly vintage items because of the uniqueness they bring to a project.  It has been fun using old things I have around.  I have been very good for months now not buying anything new.  I of course used some RRR ribbons....seam binding and twines.  Also used very old Cosmo papers, Graphic 45, and stickers from Creative expressions.  The alphabet border is actual old 7 Gypsies gaffer tape.   I have fallen back in love with it.  As always hope you enjoy...and have a safe and wonderful Labor Day!   Hugs, cherry

Candy Corn peat pot buckets...

My turn to share a tutorial over at RRR.   I started with some little peat pots and painted them up in pumpkin orange.  I used my crop-a-dile (remember those?) to make holes on either side and used some faux canvas ribbon in black for the handles.  I than added some homemade crepe papers to the bottom and top of each bucket.  My next step was to make some bows using plaid ribbon in black and added then to the side.  From here start having fun layering your diecuts and images and add dimension with some foam adhesive.   Other than that I just had to add a bit more ribbon nestled inside the gingham.  I added orange seam binding and Halloween bakers twine along with a hand stamped Maya road tag and jingle bell to finish them off.  Now they are ready for some candy corn or other sweet delight for this coming Halloween!  Enjoy, cherry

ONLY cute spooks allowed....

Yes....my craft room is in bloom....with orange and black.  But it is only August 3rd you say?   It is what it is.   A bit of a sickness really....holidays are my favorite to create for.  I can't help myself, and I am alright with that.     Today I am sharing a paper mache house box.  I only had one left and decided to create a spooky cottage.  Only for cute spooks though!   I painted it metallic black and made cute little handmade embellishments for it.  I lost several hours creating this and enjoyed every minute of it.  I used burnt rust seam binding , which I wrapped around the whole box and tied in a big shabby bow to one side.  I used big Cavallini postcards that I diecut to fit to size.  I love those old vintage images.  The roof is decked out with glitter spiderwebs, a big diecut bat, and little stars and moons that I added foam adhesive  too for dimension.    I LOVE how this turned out and hope you enjoy!   Cherry
