inked poppy

Craving bright colors and this gorgeous red poppy stamp.   Love when you get to ink something up for the first time.   I decided to give this one some color.  I am not big on coloring but had fun doing this.   I kept the card pretty simple....papers, a bit of crochet lace, ribbons, and the image.  I wanted it to pop.   I embellished my envelope a bit as well for fun.   I used Give Momma some love for my sentiments.  Thanks for letting me share!  cherry

With love...

How are you?  Hope your week is off to a good start.   I can't believe Spring is so close and Winter is coming to an end.   I say this with it snowing outside...but still.. I sense it.  Track has started for my son.  It is his first year.  Looking forward to sharing this new experience with him.  So many new adventures for a freshman.
My adventures are closer to home....I am such a fuddy duddy.   I love to be home.  Fiddling around with a card listening to the quiet sounds of my clock.   I have a couple of cards today sharing yummy  Riddarholmen   goodies
I love mixing the collections together. I used Fall Flea Market and A Christmas Story . So in love with all disse collections.   The Christmas line har flere versatile patterns som kan used for every day. I added a wax envelope of embossed and shabbied up with some paint on the first card . A little ribbon, crowns, pins, and a sweet cabochon from the great . The second card I added one of the lovely wooden frames ... I inked it and gave it a bit of glitter. Images are so dreamy! Hope you enjoy! hugs, cherry

RRR tutorial

Are you getting Spring fever?   I am hearing birds chirping again and we think our Mama bird has come back to set up house in our (her) birdhouse.   I have been doing a bit of spring cleaning (getting a month head start).  Bringing out some birdies and nests I have had tucked away.  It is so much fun to bring something out and see it again.   Tweaking a bit of décor here and there.   Ahhh love this time of year....the promise of new.
I popped in to share an itty bitty tutorial for RRR, one which some of you know.  The process of tea staining ribbons and laces.  I love to do it every now and again.  It softens things and it gives it history.   I also do seam binding sometimes and decided to pop a bit of the   baby pink seam binding  in for fun.  It came out a yummy soft peachy pink.   The crochet lace I tried is the Juliet lace and it picked up the tea really well and it smells wonderful.  I generally use 4 packets and boil the water like I am making tea and pop them in to steep.   As you can see it gets pretty dark.  I leave everything in there for several hours and than take it out and dry it on a tea towel.
As you can see I am starting my Mother's day cards....the first is one made for a customer.  That is her Mama and her as a baby and I simply adore their picture.  I love how the tea staining softens everything and gives it authenticity, especially with lovely old pictures.  The other card I used a Crafty Secrets stamp set.  It is know secret I love silhouettes.  I have a small wall area with a grouping of them.  So fun to use on cards. As always I Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

What's Up Cupcake!

Happy valentines Day to you!  Did you get any chocolate?   I sure did.   I don't have a Valentine's Day card for you....but I do have something rather sweet for you.   I created this card for The Rubber Café using the Hey Cupcake .  set.    I had fun using the mini images in the set.   I created a banner from them.  It is a neat way to add importance to smaller images.   I gave them a bit of detail by coloring the candles and cherries and added some glitter to the top of the cupcakes.  I also used the bingo card stamp as a background to the banner.  I kept everything soft by using pinks and vintage greys.   I love this combo and love using it.   I also used some cute little Jellie dots on the cherries.....for the shine you see on cherries of course.  Hope you enjoy...and have a happppy rest of your Valentines day!   cherry

RRR blog hopping!

Hello to you! You should have found your way here from Ms. Gloria's .  We have a wonderful blog hop to share with you today.  All in honor of this month's ribbon club assortment of course.   Ohhh so yummy pastels.....easter egg colors.  Which is just what I took my cue from.   I created a card and a set of two fun candy bags.  They are ready to fill with Easter candy and tuck inside a basket.  I used several diecuts and some new to me stamps from Wplus9 to pull my projects together.  Hope you enjoy...and it gets you in the mood for Spring!  Your next hop is to Ms. Heather's . If you get lost remember you can always start back at RRR.   Have fun and I am off to see all the beautiful  projects myself!  hugs, Cherry

Penmanship...

It's a done deal....I hate windows 8.   I am going to have to buy a wig because I am tearing my hair out every time I download pictures.  Why you ask ( indulge me) because it takes forever...and than the pictures are all scrambled.   What am I doing wrong?  It does not help that I am coming down with some horrible dirty little bug.  It's tenacious.
At least I was able to find my card that I made today for Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This card reminds me of when I was in first grade.  I took great pains to practice my handwriting.  I was so proud of myself (I added curly cues).  Even than I had to add details.  Today's generation doesn't even know the meaning of penmanship.  My grandmother had gorgeous handwriting.  I imagine her being the lady on the front of this card.  Sitting, practicing her writing.  I used sepia tones and creams...and added black for a bit of drama.  I used black seam binding and my very favorite lace ever the charlotte lace.  Well it is getting nearer to midnight.  I suppose I should try to get some shut-eye.  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Key to my Heart...

Are you ready for V day?   I have a few sweet treats hidden away in my closet for my two closest boys.   I made some yummy sugar cookies shaped like scallop hearts with red sugar sprinkles and they are already gone. We don't like the heavy frosting type in this household.  Me  thinks I should have doubled the recipe.  Nothing lasts long here.
Now onto a few little goodies to make it extra special ,which will have to be bought tomorrow when I hit the big town.   I have sweet memories of waking up before school and getting fun little gifts from my Mama.  She always made every holiday special.  I still have this little glass heart  box she gave me.  Nothing fancy, but I loved putting my extra special earrings in it.    That might be where I got my love of hearts.   I love them for all holiday...and in between.   So know surprise that I gravitate towards heart s of any kind.
I thought I would share a few projects made for Pink Persimmon with some sweet hearts of course, pun intended.  First up is a banner made from the Sweet heart stamp.  I know I speak for several of us on the team....this is one of our favorite stamps.  So versatile .   I had fun wrapping vintage laces around each one and embellishing them up.  The second project is just a card made using Key to my Heart .  I fussy cut out my images and adhered them with foam adhesive.  I added a bit of glitter on a few of them and created a banner from each shape.   I will hate to see Valentines go.....I hate to put away the red and pink just yet.   I hope to squeeze in a few  more projects with you all though before it passes.   Time to go to bed....I have a big ole black lab next to me...snoring.  Hope you enjoy!    hugs, cherry

Sending all my love

With Valentines fast approaching it is not a bad idea to get going on some fun little tags.  You can tie them to a candy bag or a lollipop ...or two.   These were made using stamps from The Rubber Café
I used a sweet little set called Sending All My Love .   I relied heavily on my diecuts to add interest...using Spellbinders scallop circles and Spellbinders circles simply adding foam adhesive to the underside for dimension.  I colored in the little image a bit using Tim Holtz distress markers.  Other than that I added some ribbons and a rhinestone for a bit of bling.  Very easy....and great quick project.  Hope you enjoy and enjoy your Wednesday!  Cherry

Epiphany Crafts project..

Sooo , Not Amish yet.  Only time will tell if I turn to kerosene lamps and prairie dresses.  For now Windows 8 has not done me in.   I wanted to say though...I am so sorry for my last project post and the incomplete wording.   Since I couldn't get online I couldn't finish it .   OY.   Ahhh well.. such is the life of one with out a mother board.  What the heck is that anyway?  Is it like the mother ship?   Anyways today I have a fun little Valentine project to share made for Epiphany Crafts.  I recycled a vintage heart tin.  I sprayed it with Ballet slippers pink and gave it a good dusting of glitter.  I added button layers inside along with velvet millinary leaves and a vintage bottlecap .  I used my Epiphany Crafts circle 25 tool along with the epoxy 25  bubblecaps  to create my focal point ...a sweet little cupid that I tucked inside the bottle cap.  I topped it off with seam bindings, some ribbon to hang it from, and a cute valentine ticket.   This would be a great little gift or use for a decoration for V day!   I love little altered pieces like this.  That is is for me today.  I have several custom projects that need attending too...so behind.   Thanks for letting me share and grumble a bit. hugs,   Cherry

cupcake card

I will have to keep this very short and sweet. I have not been able to visit... I have had major computer problems all this past week, as in my computer dying a slow painful  death.   The motherboard...is toast...what ever that is.    As we speak I am using a new computer for the first time...very first time with windows 8 and I am frazzled.  I am lucky I was able to download this one pic...so here is my project...a cupcake card using pink seam binding from the Really Reasonable store.   I would link it but don't know how to minimize to go get link.   I am pretty sure right now I am going to become Amish...cherry
