We all need to smile from time to time and this image does just that for me! I used some fun older papers, flowers, and gorgeous RRR ribbons. Along with a tissue flower, stick pins, and a buckle I added rose petal seam binding, carolina white lace, and Mauve velvet through my buckle. Hope this makes you smile too! hugs, cherry

Freedom
Well I am back with another post for the day...this time for Vintage Street Market. Another fun Patriotic card. This time I used some goodies from Midways Maingate paper from October Afternoon, some fun Craft Pantry Staples including the bingo card and twirly twine. I also used some kitschy Pom Pom fringe. I added some stars, denim ribbons, and buttons and my card is complete! Perfect for the 4th! Hope you enjoy! cherry
america...
Memorial day is just right around the corner...and that means Summer is right on our heels. I say this with it snowing outside. Yes...really. Today is my day over at the The Rubber Café. I pulled out two of my favorites...and really what I consider staple stamps for their versatility. The mini jar set and the Bingo stamp.
I started with some fun patriotic papers and layered them with the mason jar stamp. To add detail to the jar I stamped the bingo stamp right over it and fussy cut it out. I layered it with some fun stars that I inked up and gorgeous buttons wound with twine. I add a bit of gingham ribbons and an America banner and was done! Perfect for Memorial Day or the 4th! Hugs, cherry

New kid in town...
Ok so I went and did it. Followed my heart and NOT my head. Yes there is a new Kid (kitten in town). He is tiny...not sure how old. He kinda followed me home on Mothers Day. Been busy , busy, busy with him and lovely allergies. Always challenging to have a stuffy head. OHH but the reason I popped in....new challenge over at RRR. RED, WHITE, AND BLUE. Come join us! I created two cards using the color scheme. One patriotic but shabby and one for fathers day, which is fastly approaching. I used two ribbons May Arts denim blue and my fave Carolina white lace. Make sure to check out the rest of the design team challenges. I am off to luv on baby kitty! hugs, cherry

Love me some red, white, and blue
Today is the day....RRR ribbon club blog hop! Always fun to be a part of. You should have made your way here from Gloria's blog . We have lovely patriotic ribbons this time around. I love me some red, white, and blue! I just could not stop...so I have two cards and an altered plaque to share. Just fun vintagey style Americana! These ribbons would be perfect for Memorial day too. I used a lot of older Melissa Frances and GCD Studios. The polka dot pocket is Simple Stories from Michaels. Some stars of course, a bit of stitching, and fun images bring them all together. Hope you enjoy! Your next stop is Ms. crafty Heathers. Make sure to check out everyones creations...they are always beautiful! If you get lost just start back at the RRR blog...link up above. Happy Monday! cherry

Green thumb...
Happy Mother's day to you! I have a summer bloom to share today! Hmmmm....green thumb? I thought I was until I moved here in the high desert of Oregon. We have such varied temperatures that it can easily dip down low even in Summer. It once snowed on fourth of July. Sooo I created my own little bloom here using a fabric layered flower, a wooden pot, stamps, and some sweet RRR ribbons. Some layered papers with embossing were my starting point. Followed by a stamped border of spades and trowels. I even stamped on my pot with a grass image. I used Moss green seam binding to wrap around the card and tied bows to the side. I added Carolina white lace to the bottom for softness and added a bit of Green apple bakers twine to the pot with a mini tag that says grown with love. Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful Mother's day! hugs, cherry

Sweet baby boy...
I might be partial....but baby boys are so sweet! I don't care what they say...girls are more fun to dress...yada yada rofl! I love the blues you get to use with baby boys. Ever Since I made the baby girl album for RRR I knew I wanted to create a boy one. I created this using a chipboard base...painted it white and distressed the heck out of it I love the worn areas....than inking them to age it a bit. Lots of Crate papers, buttons, Epiphany Craft epoxies. I added a couple of pockets that could be used to tuck little love notes about baby in or snippets of hair. I enjoy having extra areas to tuck memories in. As I said last time...my fave part is tying the ribbons on. I love using different patterns and layering them with embellishments. I used a rocking horse, a block, and a chipboard flashcard. The ribbons I used are grosgrain circus dots lt blue, gingham light blue micro, and checkerboard light blue satin . So much fun! I am thinking a wedding one next....I am kinda hooked. Hope you enjoy! Hugs, cherry

Cake you say???
Why yes thank-you! I thought I should pop in since it is now May 1st. Time is a monster. I have been busy, busy, busy with track meets, Spring cleaning, house projects, and my Papa's birthday this past weekend. I made him a chocolate chip cake. One of THE yummiest cakes ever...if you like chocolate that is. We most certainly do in this house. I will be sharing the recipe down below for you. It is very easy. I first found the recipe over at Ms. Kims many moons ago. She was sweet enough to share it along with her beautiful home. I sorely miss that cottage of hers. Do any of you remember Sweet Daisy cottage?
Anyways this cake never lasts long in our house..and if you make it you will see why. My other little share is what I am calling a Mini curio plaque. I adore it. I used lots of little sweet tid bits. I love anything that speaks of home. I used little wooden houses, vintage buttons, antique mother of pearl buttons, wood hearts found on etsy, antique laces, and of course some yummy seam bindings from RRR. I just made this for fun ..made my heart smile today! I hope it does yours too! Here is the recipe.....just add your ingredients one by one and mix it all up.....I use a bunt pan and put her in the oven. OHHH it makes the house smell soo good! Next time I think I might try peanut butter chips for something different. Hugs, cherry
preheat oven to 350 bake for 45-50 minutes
chocolate cake mix
1 package of chocolate pudding (I use the large size)
1 cup of sour cream
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup of oil
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips (I use milk chocolate)
