Hand stitched just for you!

Hope you had a lovely Easter...we did!   I have a new creation for you made for Really Reasonable Ribbon.   Mother's Day isn't far off ...and everything you do for Mom should be special.  Including the package!  I found these larger pillow boxes and decided to deck them out with some fab goodies and trims.  I have a step by step here of my process.
                          1) I started with my box and covered it in my chosen papers and wrapped my box in natural burlap with wire in red as my base ribbon. 2) I than prepared my sewing tag and wound it with cherry bakers twine and tied it around the 1.5 light blue crochet lace to keep it secure. 3) I hot glued that right to the base of my first bow and added my 5/8 light blue crochet lace to the bottom edge of my papers.  4)  From here grab more of your cherry twine and wrap it around your spool a bunch and hot glue the spool to the middle of your crochet bow...add your mini "just for you" tag and your sweet wild orchid sweetheart blossoms nestled amongst the middle.  5)  Almost done...add your diecut gingham square and red banner piece layering on each other on your tag and top with a fun vintage style button.  Done, done, and done!  The paper I used is from an Etsy store and the sweet sewing hand stitched tag is a Crafty Secrets  digital image.
Perfect to add some of Mom's fave candy or a fun jewelry piece for her. I think any Mom would feel a little extra special with a gift like this!    Hope you enjoy!   Hugs, cherry

A Glad Easter

And a Glad Easter it will be using these sweet post card images from Crafty Secrets!  I had almost forgotten I had made these.....so glad I got to share them!  First up is a card using red teal floral digital paper which I used on both projects.  This paper paired so well with the Easter images. I added some vintage Dresdan borders, laces, ribbons from RRR, and some vintage bits and bobs and was done.   The little plaque has sweet mother of pearl buttons all in a row with a gorgeous antique glass floral brooch.  It was so hard to part with this but it looked like it was meant to be with this image and paper!  Well are you getting ready for your Easter festivities?   We plan on a quiet dinner here with family.   Hope you enjoy yours!   hugs, cherry

Happily Ever After

Time for a new challenge over at RRR!   This time it is a monochromatic challenge with ribbon..with the addition of one color.  I  have had these antique silhouettes in my stash and decided to finally use them.   I was going for a Great Gatsby art deco style.   I cut two mini holes on the inside of each picture and added some vintage findings floral pieces wrapped with bits of copper.  I thought it was unique and a bit different.  My added color of course is gold.   I thought it worked so well with the black and white.  Which isn't exactly monochromatic...but you won't tell will Ya? I also added 1/4 inch natural crochet lace and layered it with Gabrielle off white crochet lace. This would make a great wedding or anniversary card.   Make sure to join the challenge with us!   Hope you enjoy!   cherry

Mrs. Easter Bunny...

Happppppppppy Monday!  I have a  fun little project today using the sweet swirly straws that have become so popular.   I used the cutest Crafty Secrets image  from their Easter creative scraps.  Mrs. Easter Bunny I presume....who else could it be?   I started by cutting the image with my oval Spellbinders and layering it with another Spellbinders, this time in the scallop ovals.   I wrapped handmade tissue fringe around the outer edges and also added pink tinsel to the inner circles.  To add the straw I simply hot glued it behind and added a protective cardstock piece around the top of straw for extra sturdiness.   I than decked my topper out with flowers and ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbons and a little sentiment tag.   This would add the final touch to the top of an Easter bag or basket...or an Easter cake!  You could also do smaller ones for cupcakes.  I like using them to decorate with and nestle them in my vintage glass frogs.   Hope you enjoy!   Cherry
