Kelly's Kit Creations!

Helllo I have been missing in action a bit!  We are planning another camping trip with the boys and I am busy, busy, busy getting ready.  I wanted to pop in and show a few things I created for my buddy Kelly's Kit Creations http://www.kitcardshop.com/.  She has THE sweetest kits ever.....mixing old with new!  She sent me a happy bright kit that made me smile!   I will be sharing more from the kit but for now I thought I would show you a little mini card set, two little chipboard tags, and a vintagey "old school" card I made.   I have always enjoyed fabric(you should see my piles of fabric) and anything textural...but I have gone MAD for felt.   I have been making felt flowers in the evening watching television...and it is addicting.   I have added some of them to my cards and tags.   Well that is it for me today!  I plan on doing some good reading, good eating, and some splish splashing in the lake.   Please come back though I am excited to share I will be guesting for Melissa Frances.    Hugs to you all!  Cherry

My new friend Patsy of PRAIRIE BIRD BOUTIQUE!

                                  Hello!   I came back like promised.  I am so excited to share with you a new shop I found on etsy..it is ran by fellow etisian Patsy of Prarie Bird Boutique http://www.etsy.com/shop/PrairieBirdBoutique.  I have had a love affair with vintage seam binding for some time now using it on my altered plaques etc but have really become smitten with the imperfectly perfect look of crinkled seambinding.    Patsy has the most gorgeous wrinkle ribbons...straight from wrinkle heaven.  These are the types of wrinkles you want to KEEP! I don't know if I can pick a favorite color...she has the full rainbow!  If I had to it would be this dark royal type blue...love it paired with my reds I adore.  Patsy also sells paper lace in sweet pastels and offers up her own artistic creations. I can guarantee that you won't find a better quality and price.  So  I wanted to create some cards just for the sole purpose of show casing her ribbons...I carried the ribbons around each and every card and tied big double and sometimes triple bows to get that luscious look I love.  If you are wanting to add a bit of "tea-staining"  to your ribbons just use a little inking....you can see that I added it to my first card in the close up.  Adds a bit of age to it.  I have several other projects that I can't share just yet using her ribbons..but will be sure to share when I can.   So if I were you I would go take a peek and visit Patsy's shop she is very sweet... a country gal just like me.... you will like her!  ..BUT Please leave me a bit of ribbon!  Tell her I said "Hi".....Well I am off to create some more!  Happy Summer gals!  xoxox, cherry

Guest designing over at Emma's Paperie!

          Little late but wanted to share my little guest gig over at Emma's Paperie http://emmaspaperie.blogspot.com/2010/07/guest-designer-cherry-nelson.html.  Cindy truly has JUST about everything you could ever need or want when it comes to papercrafts!   I decided to make a little altered birdy plaque...using chain instead of my beloved seam binding for something different and of course a few little happy cards!  I love the B Shackman paper scraps she has over there!  ADORABLE.  Do you see that gorgeous red  crinkled seam binding up above on the little boy card? It is wrinkled to perfection!   That comes from Prairie Bird Boutique.  More on her gorgeous store Friday.  Come back than  because I plan on sharing some goodies made with her sweet  ribbons!    Happy Summer!  XOXO, Cherry

Some Goodies to share

I don't know about you but it always seems like once the 4th has hit...SUMMER really wheezes by!  We had a fun one spent with family and friends!  Lots of good eats and an elephant ear or two! I enjoyed reading about  what sounds you all think of when you recall Summer.  I took a break for a few days and have now gotten back to creating...I never part from it long.  It makes my mind, heart, and hands happy!  The first five cards are made using Crafty Secret images AGAIN.  I find myself rummaging through and always grabbing a few of them to create with.  Their images make me smile!  I used birds and blossoms creative scraps, girlfriends images & journal notes, homemade images & journal notes, and one that is near and dear to my heart altered fairy creative scraps. I also used whats cooking homespun stickers, and their glamour girls stamps & bonjour merci stamps.   If you want to take a peek you can find them here http://www.shopatron.com/products/category/Creative+Scraps/555.0.1.1.23075.50186.0.0.0 I find that I whirl with ideas sometimes..and have got to get them going or just might lose them if they settle in my brain to long.  I plan on putting some of these in my etsy store if you care to take a peek...or two.  Well that is it for me today blogger is giving me fits!  Hugs to you all, Cherry

You are home to me...........

                     Hello there.....time for another installment of gorgeous GCD STUDIOS products.  I made two cards this time...using my FAVE Artsy Urban and a bit of HOMESPUN CHIC as well.  Who wouldn't...they combine beautifully? One is done in darker vintagey colors and the other I did lighter and more shabby.   The sentiments they come up with are beautiful (You are home to me, and fly to your own music)....easy to use...especially for card making.  I used some of the chipboard this time...from both lines...and I am not kidding..their chipboard is nice and heavy...well made.  Love the premade frames with that shabby little pom pom fringe.   TOOO DIE FOR!  So there you have it.....nice and simple....easy little projects with endearing sentiments.   XOXO, Cherry
