creams and browns....ooooooooooooooh my my

I am usually drawn to bright colors...especially reds.  Once and awhile....and I think Fall has influenced me as of late...I am drawn to more subtle colors.  Browns, creams....faded and weathered.  OF course the more antiquey the better.   I have only a few projects this evening to share.  Two cards and a shabby bingo plaque.  Finally used this rhinestone crown I had.  So happy I did!  Hope you like.  Happy Tuesday.  xoxo, cherry

Wow.

Did not realize this was my 300th post?  I guess I better get going and do a give-away.  Time got away from me as usual.   How are all you doing?  Thanks to those that wished me well on my new design team adventure.  I have a few cards and a bingo card to show to you.  I have had some of these images from Heart and home for sometime and finally decided I could part with them.  I sometimes want to hoard things.  I love love these nostalgic homespun images.  Hope you do too.  If you want to visit my etsy go here http://www.etsy.com/shop/cherryjn   Hugs, cherry

I'm soooooooooo excited....

Happy hump day to you all!  I have a fun announcement to make....I have been chosen to be on the MAGISTICAL MEMORIES design team http://www.magisticalmemories.com/.  Sooooo excited to be a part of this group of ladies.  They make some of the coolest chipboard pieces to add to your scrapbooking, cards, or altered projects.  As I am sure many of you know I LOVE chipboard.  Use it on all projects...so can't wait to share my upcoming creations with you.  As to the rest of my post....just wanted to share my newest cards and altered items.   Yesterday found me feeling quite motivated to get my fingers busy.  When I got done I realized all my cards had a theme.....FRIENDSHIP.  Did not plan it that way...but kinda cool never the less.  I don't have many friends where we live....I did not grow up in this area of Oregon and actually still consider myself an outsider.  Most of my friends live over the mtn from me...but I still love and miss them dearly.  I feel blessed to have all of you.  I get emails from you with some of the sweetest comments...and questions of course.  Friendship is very important and I know you all feel the same!  Other than that I am sharing two more Christmas projects with you.  A banner and an altered project....just fun and full of vintagey goodness.  I have had so many of you ask where I get my images from...many of my images come from http://www.craftysecrets.com/  They are one of my most favorite companies.  Go take a peek at their store. Well  We have been sooooo lucky to have some warmer sunny weather these past days....a little bit of indian summer has come our way...which gladdens my heart!  We will soon have snow and I count myself blessed to have a bit of warmth before the coolness sets in.  Well I am off to finish a few things.  I hope you all are having a lovely day!  xoxox, Cherry

GCD Studios Tech project....Nevermore.......

Hello there!  Getting ready for some spooks and chills yet?  I have always loved Edgar Allan Poe's "the raven"......which was my inspiration here.  This was my first chance to use Melody Ross's chipart tool..and do a little debossing.  I got together my chipart tool, handy dandy "hammer".....which is almost too pretty to use, and my chipart mat & water bottle.   I picked out my chipboard of choice...birds...and my design of choice...mini shapes..the diamond one.  I started at a point midway on the bird.....and started to deboss the design.  I used very little water...just a spritz or two to allow the chipboard to "mold" better.  I really allowed myself to get "artsy" here...which is hard for me sometimes.  I took Melody's advice to heart..."embrace your imperfections".    I have to say I love my little bird...or should I say "raven".   I added an amber rhinestone for an eye and a little spooky banner to his beak.  I broke out some more GCD Studio's chipboard using the "tags"(for gravestones) and also the "flourishs" set.  I painted the chipboard and a small frame black...once dry I distressed the frame and chipboard a bit for a worn appearance.  I glittered the scroll and "gravestones" and than adhered them to the frame.  I picked out a bit of paper that had a black background with a glittered accent from the Artsy Urban line as my backdrop for the raven.   I think it came out spookylicious!  Just a fun all about me project!  Hope you like!  Hugs, cherry
