L-O-V-E

                            New year....and already almost mid month.........???   Time just keeps getting away from me.   I have a fun and whimsical Valentine piece to share that I made for RRR this month.  Perfect for that special someone in February or brighten a corner in your home.  I rummaged through my chipboard pieces and came across this lone Maya Road scallop piece.   I  knew that it would be perfect to pair with my LOVE typography.  I don't know about you, but one of my favorite pairings is grey and red.  I picked out a lovely damask in grey and went to work tracing it using my scallop piece.  I cut it out and than adhered it to the base.  I sanded and distressed it to get the edges nice and clean and aged it a bit as well.
                                                 Once the hard part of that was done, it was time for the fun part of picking ribbons and embellies! I picked out some Pewter crochet lace for my base and added white ruffle ribbon over that.  I wanted more red as well so I used red seam binding to hang the sign from.  Now it was time to adhere the LOVE word to the plaque, which I did using hot glue. From there I added goodies I have been hoarding for awhile....eclectic little pieces.  A wood clock, large rose cabochon (love these), buttons, vintage velvet millinary leaves, and the sweetest little glass birdy.  I love, love, love how this turned out.   Hope you do too!  Happy Sunday, Cherry

Crafty Secret Calender creations

 

 

 

Time for another fun linky party with Crafty Secrets.   Sandy has made up some gorgeous calendar samples to use in your craft creations.  We were challenged to use them some how as well....I created a Valentine ornament.  I used a chipboard lid as a "shadowbox".  Layering diecuts, heart, calendar, and my sweet bottle cap with flair button set inside.  I added handmade paper fringe to the outside along with red tulle trim.  After that I topped it off with lots of yummy red seam binding with a mini millinary flower and metal key clip. Perfect to hang from a peg or hang on a Valentine tree.  Hope you enjoy...check out everyone elses calendar creations!  Happy New Year!  Cherry

Recipe for love.....

Steadily making headway with packing the last of Christmas away.   Kinda nice to have bare clean spaces to work with.   Good time to do some dusting.   I have been slowly bringing out some Valentine goodies to play with.  I love these bright happy colors....pairing my favorite red with aquas and turquoise.  I created this for RRR using May arts 1.5 inch light blue crochet lace.  My new fave...I have this in pink too and it is adorable. Nice wide lace which makes a great border.  I also used red seam binding, twine, and gorgeous buttons.    I created little mini envelopes ready to fill with mini candies or love notes along with some diecut hearts that I decked out with flowers and the cutest faux wax seals.  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Almost time for Ole St. Nick....

Well...it is almost time for Ole St. Nick to make his rounds.  I am popping in with one last little creation before Christmas time is fully upon us.  This is yes...another stocking.  Sorry but Like I said I had a lot of fun doing these this year.   This one has more of a shabby old world feel to it.    I used some lovely Riddersholm papers, a image from my stash, and a pretty pinecone from JoAnns.   I used the most gorgeous Pewter crochet lace from May Arts, Charcoal Gray seam binding, Diamonds and Dots on silver, and a bit of  Amelia white crochet lace on the "toe and heal" of the stocking.  I posted this pic of Ms. Moops because she also wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas!  She has been very very good (ha ha) and waits patiently for Santa to come and bring her a toy.   Hope you enjoy and have a very merry Christmas!  hugs, cherry

Tis the season....

Hello popping in real quick to share a cutie for Crafty Secrets.   I wanted to go off the background of the sweet  and use some blue.  I added red to keep it traditional.  I love blue and red together and think it works well with this image.   I used papers from Pretty Little Studio.  Simple and cute and full of Kitschiness!  Merry Christmas, cherry

Can't believe it,  but it is time for another blog hop with RRR.  This month is zipping by!   This month's ribbon selection is called "winter blues" and it is just gorgeous.    You should have made your way here from Heather's blog.  If along the way you get lost you can always start back at the RRR link up above.   I had so much fun creating with the ribbons I ended up with two ...the first being a Winter birthday card that I turned into a step x step for you.  Starting with your paper scraps and cutting them diagonally at whatever width you would like.   I used Scor-tape to adhere my diecut border, lace, and ribbon.   Next wrap your ribbon all the way around the card and tie a base bow towards the top.  I layered mine with another bow and a bit of charcoal grey seam binding.   From here adhere your bird and snowflake layers and top the bow off with a pearl button.  Last but not least stamp your sentiment in the lower right corner.  Always a good idea to have some birthday cards tucked away.   My other card is just a sweet Winter greeting....perfect for those club ribbons!  Well that is it for me.....your step stop is Bonnie's blog.  Enjoy!  hugs, cherry

Nostalgic stockings...

Hello there!  I have a few stocking ornaments to share today using RRR ribbons.  I have had so much fun making these this year.  I have backed mine with chipboard to make them extra sturdy. Covered them in papers, washi tapes, nostalgic dog images, and fun embellishments.  I used red circus dot grosgrain, lipstick red and moss green seam bindings,  stitched grosgrain, and amelia white crochet lace .    Great way to combine ribbons together and use up smaller pieces as well.  After my ribbons were attached at the top I topped them with faux greenery, bells, and stamped tags.  Hope you enjoy!  hugs, cherry
