Hello

          Checking in with you all before we leave on a camping trip to the coast.  I only have a few cards to share with you tonight and my project for Allyscraps http://allyscrapsblog.blogspot.com/    I decided to do an altered sewing plaque using a Maya road dress form....I enjoyed embellishing this with goodies from the store as well as a few vintage finds of mine.  Fun little project.   The cards are inspired by the gorgeous colors of Summer veggies....greens and varying shades of reds.  I can't get enough of the vintage style seed packet images.  The other card I used some of my diecuts on and used varied sizes and layers using foam adhesive.  The last card I used a real little kraft envelope and just painted the edges for a shabby look and stuck it on my cardstock.  I LOVE envelopes..you could tuck a little love note into this one.  Well that is it for me....can't wait to breath the sea air!  We are taking 3 extra boys with us......eghads!  XOXO, Cherry

Good Times!

           We had fun up in Portland!  Thanks for sending good cheer our way.  I thought I would share a picture of my dh and I....my hair is FLAT..but OOOOO well.  It was a lovely banquet and we had fun at Ikea and downtown Portland...our son had never seen a "skyscraper"...so that was cool.  I have gotten back into the creative groove a bit.   MORE of my cheerful color....I heart so!  Stay tuned tomorrow for my next Allyscrap's project post.  Till than! OHHH linkin up to the Shabby Tea room  http://theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/ again....this time celebrating summer!  XOXO, Cherrry

A little break...

                  Hi there....a few cards to show...nuttin special.. before we leave for the big city of Portland. We are going up there for my Dh's graduation.  Soo proud and happy for him. Get to go to Ikea..and Lloyd Center...a big mall.  Would love to hit some flea markets like Monticello but doubt we will have time.  I decided to do a few shabby little cards with pinks, greens, and blues for a change.  Perfectly imperfect little cards.   Well I feel like I am rambling here...so I am off to go to bed.  Hugs and have a happy weekend!  cherry

Pop's Day!

                          Father's Day is coming up....can't believe it is already the 8th of June.  My son and I spent a quiet day at home...he read while I made cards.  It was nice.  It is another windy rainy day ...so perfect weather for staying inside.  I have to say I really enjoyed making these for my store.  I thought the darker colors and more masculine vibe would be hard to create with...but I kinda dug it.  Love adding the texture to these type of cards to add depth....burlap was of course the natural choice.  Adding bits of vintage nostalgia was fun too.   So this is my share for the day.   I am linking this post to the Shabby Tea Room's challenge post this week http://www.theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/     This is my first time linking to a card challenge.   Hugs to you all, Cherry

Three Cheers for the RED, WHITE, and, BLUE

           I have taken a few days off....my son had his end of the school year party yesterday.   He is officially out of school!  Yeaaaaaa!  I can sleep in a bit.  I had so much fun playing with the kids..eating junk food and yummy chocolate chip bundt cake.  I felt like a kid again!  But just a wee bit tired.  A mother of one of the boys took all the kids tonight though so I was able to play and create.    A lot of patriotic 4th of July cards and some Bingo cards.  This will be most of what I will create for the 4th.  So if you  are wanting anything now is the time.   I also made a few "feel good" cards with happy Summer colors...even though all we have is rain, rain, and more rain.  I can't help myself when it comes to Summer colors.
