Visions of Sugar plums blog hop

Happy Sunday!  Hope you are all snuggled up warm and toasty.  Sit back and grab some hot cocoa because we have some fantastic inspiration to share.  Today is the first day of the Visions of Sugar Plums blog hop!  I am so excited to be apart of this fun event this year.  We have a great line up of artists and prizes, so make sure to hop along to all their blogs!  You must comment on the blogs for a chance to win.  Your name will be entered for each time you comment.  We would also be thrilled to have you enter our challenge....the theme is Christmas/Winter.  The project can be a card or anything your little heart desires as long as it fits the theme.  Just make sure to link it up on Lori's blog.  Did I mention there will a randomly selected winner, who will receive a 25.00 Lawn Fawn gift certificate!  Yep! How cool is that? Below is a list of all the prizes and sponsors.
Now for my little project I knew I had to kick start off with one of Pretty Little things  free images.  I fell in love with this little angel.  Isn't she sweet?  I tried to keep it simple, but you know how I am.  I did only use one pattern paper from RR.  To add interest I used a stamp from PTI and randomly stamped it on the top portion of my card. I fussy cut my image and layered it with a vintage snowflake from my stash and added some little gold stars.  Other than that a bit of seam binding from RRR and some buttons and pearls and I was done.  Hope you enjoy!  Below is a list of the blogs...so make sure to hop along and comment!

Holly Jolly Merry and Cheer

Popping in real quick folks!  Today is the second day of my son's basketball tournament and we are busy busy.  My day over at RRR and I am sharing some over the top cute tags perfect to top that package off with this year.  My papers are all from a JoAnn's paper pad from several years ago.  My adorable dimensional images are from Walmart of all places....you just never know!  I used Chevron striped Twill in red , Plaid ribbon in celery green, and Christmas red zig zag on white satin as my tying ribbon.  I used lots of fun layers to really bring these to life.  I can't live without adhesive foam. Nothing is the same without it.  Once done with all my layers I added some fun mini toppers...bottle brush wreaths, snowballs, and berries.  These are really very simple.....I think what makes them pop is the dimension, diecuts, and colorful ribbons. Enjoy!   Cherry

Shimmer and Sparkle

Today is the day!  A fantastic challenge starting at Really Reasonable Ribbon .....create something with shimmer & sparkle and ribbon of course!  This is the only challenge for this month at RRR...so please join us.  I have broke out the glitter again....always perfect for the holidays.  I created two cards for this challenge...both very different in styles but both with the same glitter.  I always love the softness that glitter adds to a project.
My first card is cute, bright, and very kitschy.  A fun image from my stash.....using a non-traditional christmas palette.  I added sweetheart blossoms in red and two tone blue and layered them with flowers from Riddersholm Designs.  I used Glory blue seam binding along with a bit of frayed fabric for contrast.
My second card is one of my favorites in a long time.  Using an old Spellbinders die I shaped my card into a label design.  I let my image and papers from Raspberry Road Designs take the lead.   I layered my image onto a stiff vintage crochet snowflake and than added in lots of vintage touches....snowflakes and vintage rhinestone buttons along with a WP cabochon.  I also used a sweet tree from Riddersholm Designs.  To add softness I used Bayleaf seam binding and than added  my glitter to the whole card.   Well folks that is it for me.....enjoy!  Hugs, Cherry

I'll I have a blue Christmas...

Been getting into the habit of going back into my studio late at  night for a few hours.  The house is quiet....my cat is laying by my side.. and I can think, dream, and create. My soul feels at rest than and I can think nostalgic thoughts of my Mama.   Been loving varying shades of blue.....I always love it paired with red.  Red and aqua is my favorite color combination.  I created a couple of cards by digging into my sandwich bags of scraps.  I rummaged here and there to find bits and piece that I thought fit.  A peaceful process that can take hours....worth every minute when you get that card just right.  I used papers from Raspberry road Designs.  They are having a store wide sale on the site!  Check it out.  I also used Echo Park stickers and ribbons from RRR   I just love that snowman and the chill out....soooo cute!   Well that is it for me......these are available in my store at my etsy.   thanks for visiting!  hugs, cherry
