but things are on the move! Just a few odds and ends. I am naturally a night owl...I find that that is when I feel the most creative. I am decorating and doing a little craft project. I moved my white clock/niche in here and decided to paint the inside of it a fun green for a bit of a surprise. Been adding a bit of that color here and there. Put a family of quail from Goodwill (.50) that I painted white in there along with a flower frog and a salt box full of skeleton keys... & of course a nest. Now the biggest thrill of all for me is my set of Golden Nature Guides! Books full of wonderful Illustrations....I swear you could have heard my squeal from around the world when I found them. I tied them up with Jute...but must say I would love to display them in a basket where the covers could all be displayed at once. They were owned by Delaney...which is proudly spelled on the front cover. The books were a Christmas gift...as written on the inside. So sweet I think!!!! That was a happy 2.00 spent on my end. Now the little cream pots were .50 a piece at St. Vinnies and I knew they would be perfect to add some letter transfers too. I finally found some lovely rub-ons by good ole Martha at Michaels today. (Although good ole Martha wont allow you to use the Michael's 40% coupon!!! The NERVEEEE! ) With the rub-ons in hand I decided to just to do my initials. Took less than 5 minutes and am very pleased at how they came out. I plan on spelling out a word on an another piece for fun. So while not thrillsville to some on a Saturday night...I don't mind admitting I had fun! Xoxo, cherry
The little pots are so cute! I love how the pots only cost $.50 but Martha's decals probably cost 10x that amount. Ahh, the things we do to get the perfect look.
What a perfect way to spend a Saturday night! Your find are wonderful and you displayed them so effectively! Thanks for the "red" suggestion for my living room makeover - I had been toying with either going pastelly or with a bright colored look like my pincushion display in the hutch. So it was good timing! Off to the fabric store this am to look at reds... Love Esther
I had recently seen pots done like that in a magazine, and you have done them beautifully! As always, your photos as packed with inspiration! Thanks for sharing!
The green was the perfect touch! Can you wash the rub on transfers? BTW, I love your Rooster Lamp!
Oh, so very cute. Everything. Love those pots you made. Fun Saturday night! I intended to clean out clutter today, Sunday, and I did. But I ended up taking pictures of my house and making a slide show for the blog, instead of finishing the cleaning job. Glad to see others out there like me, that prefer to be creative instead of doing housework. :-) Although making the slide show wasn't exactly creative, it more more of a technical nightmare. Still not sure it is working right.
Have a great rest of the weekend, Cherry!
Cherry I have just found your blog and adore "ALL" your lovely posts about the decorating you do and the thrift shop finds your get.....A lady with a love of old similar to mine. :)
I will be back and if you do not mind I would like to add you to my fav. so I can visit again.
best wishes from Australia
Cherry- Your project turned out really well. I love the pots, they turned out really good. Your idea tying the books together with jute was great! Hope your weekend was good

I love it all. And you did great on the little pots.

I adore those pots! I thought you bought them that way. Thanks for the Martha tip - I'm going to have to look at those decals. I love that rooster lamp - the fabric of the shade is gorgeous!

You always find the perfect way to display your treasures! Everything looks great!
OK. Now I want some white pots to put transfer initials on and the collection of books to put jute around. I think I actually have a few of them from my mom's. Wonder where they are?
Thanks for sharing those ideas. (The pots look great on the new red shelf, too!)
Oh my, I think we might be soul sisters, birds, chickens, nests and the love of red! The plates you have hanging by your black shelves, my dinner plates! (Marshalls?) I LOVE your home! Thanks for stopping by and commenting because it led me to take a look at you and you are going in my favorites!
