Bookshelves & Pictures...

These are some bookshelves in our family room. I have filled them with family pictures, old books, camaras, a dog or two, a seashell or two, and more books. Simple but homey I think. The last picture is of my Mom when she was a little girl. My grand-father was an amatuer photographer and I think had a good eye. I have many of his photos and adore all of them. He died when I was only 7. I love this photo of my mother. I hung a little skeleton key of the frame for fun. Thanks for peekin! xoxo, cherry

That is wonderful about your grandfather's pictures. How cool that you have them. That one of your mom is so sweet. Your treasures never end.

Happy Friday, almost.

Guess we are visiting each other at the same time! You night owl you! I wanted to thank you for adding to our list of classics. Great additions! A touch of whimsy is just what a classic room needs, I totally agree! Without whimsy, things are a tad too stuffy!

I love that photo of your mother with the rag curls. My mother had hair like that as a little girl too; everyone wanted their little ones to look like Shirley Temple.

Wasn't your mom just cute as a button? I love old books and old pictures. They just automatically give a sense of history to the room. You have such precious possessions. Thank you for sharing them with us!

How very darling! I love old books and I even have a couple old cameras but the skeleton key... My parents house has a door on every room and every one of them uses a skeleton key. I keep one on my key chain and call it the key to my suite at the Davis Motel. have a wonderful weekend. Blessings... Polly
