Project #3

I have been away for a bit because of a heavy heart....I just have not felt like blogging. Some horrible things have come to pass in the past week. I can't go any further with out saying I have felt such sorrow for our friend Becky over at http://sweetcottagedreams.blogspot.com/ . I am sure many of you know she lost her son last week. I just don't understand why these things happen but I know that it brings me closer to my faith when they do. Sure makes you realize your REALLY not in control of your future or those you love. It is all up to the grace of God when he decides to bring you home. If you have not done so yet...please go and say a prayer for Becky and her family right now. Keep her in your thoughts and your heart.
Also I discovered today that this family http://themcclenahans.blogspot.com/ also is in need of prayers , their sweet baby girl Cora died of cancer. I am not familiar with the family but felt sooo touched by their story. So please go visit them and say some prayers.....there are some broken hearts out there that need some healing.
I have a few finds to share tonight and a few projects. Of course two of them involve paper...what a surprise..right? HA! A little crown frame I did...wrapped with Cherry paper. The little colorful frames were found in the dollar section of Michaels. I used one of my rubber stamps and did a crown and just framed it. Simple dimple. The last one...was a bit harder. I painted harlequins on an old bulletin board I found while thrifting . It cost me 2.00 so I was not afraid to try something different with it. I painted the cork white first, than drew my lines for the diamonds...(measuring of course) , and painted inside the line with some left over red. It did not come out perfect but works for now. For the cost of 2.00 and paint that was just lying around I have a new look. Soooo I think that is it for me tonight. I hope to get to visit many of you soon....I am behind...again! xoxo, cherry

As always such wonderful ideas. And cute to boot.

Loss is hard. What a kind friend you are to "mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort". One of my FAVORITE scriptures is...
"Be still, and know that I am God". I've needed to remind myself that many times.
Have a good day.

Your projects look great. I too have a heavy heart for both families. I have been following their blogs. I have not left a comment on either site yet, waiting til I have some time away from work and family. We too, lost a child 12 years ago this past December. They will both have a long road ahead and God's grace and mercy is abundant. It is just hard to comment without me turning into a blubbering idiot and it takes me back to those painful days of losing Jess. I will comment soon and hopefully be able to encourage them both as well. Thank you for keeping both families in your prayers, that is exactly what they need.
Blessings~

Great finds! Love those little picture frames and the vintage cherries! Harlequins are hard to paint - I found a stencil a while back on clearance and snatched it up! I try to use that but it's only one size so it doesn't always work.

I guess that's what this life's about. We all have our trials and how we deal with them and help each other is our test. That being said, I can not even imagine the pain of losing a child. I hope Becky and her family will be able to feel our love and be uplifted in some way.
I did get my package from you yesterday and I LOVE the heart. So perfect for my house. You got it exactly right. And thank you, too for the other little heart plaque. It's so sweet, just like you. Mimi

That's the thing about blogging, it opens up the world to you. You read of more sorrow and pain, but also more joy and happiness. Best of all you begin to understand that there are so, so many good and faithful and prayerful people and it brings you such comfort. Thanks for being one of those who are good and faithful and prayerful!

And, you know how I always love seeing your latest finds and creations! I'm lovin' that cute red scale, of course.

I read about little Cora and her family last week. I have never met them but I felt such sorrow and pain in my heart for the painful process that they went through while their baby was sick and then to loose her...oh...my heart just hurts for them. Our church is doing a series called "30 days to live" and talks about living for the Lord daily and rejoicing in the time that He gives us. I have been hugging my babies a lot this past week and praising God for another day with them.

Thanks for sharing your heart and your creative ideas. Love all your cute finds. The little frames are so sweet:)

I love all the projects you've been doing! The cherries plaque thingy is really cute, you make me want to turn my kitchen red LOL! I do have that exact same scale, which I had originally bought as a resale, but, no, I couldn't part with it now! You have a nice mom! This seems to be heavy-heart season, but I think when we bear each other's burdens, the load is lighter. Have a great week! Karen

It truly has been a sad time for so many in the blogging community. It breaks my heart. But you're right, things like that just draw me so deeper into my faith. It's the only real grounding that I have in life.

I loved all your projects...as usual but particularly loved your bulletin board. I have one sitting on my coffee table right now, the cork painted white and just not sure what to do with it. I really like your diamonds. They are a bit of inspiration for me. I may try a painting technique like that. Thanks Cherry!

I feel your heaviness of heart. I received a call from my daughter that their good friends from college have a little neice who died from cancer this week. I wonder if it is the same people. If it is or not, one still feels that deep sadness for others. But, despite that dear friend, you continue to share your amazing dose of creativity, and for that I am so very thankful. Beautiful post!!
