Sick and some more of the same

WELL..........I have been down with allergies....my head is just chalked fulll....of ALLERGY...as is my poor son. I don't think coming from humidity like Florida and coming off the plane home helped either. Have not been able to go anywhere...do anything.....so I have been doing a lot of couch sitting and watching movies. Today has been very hot and now it is thundering....I feel cagey....restless....do you know the feeling???? Soooo what am I to do but create....some more.....if you are already tired of Halloween....sorry....move onto another blog....this is my therapy when my hands are itching to do something. It is not too late (Many asked) to sign up for give-away...it will be drawn on Monday. I will leave you with my offerings over in etsy. At least there are pictures...pictures are good right?? A few more Halloween items

added over yonder....in the etsy store. Some of you have asked how I find time to make so many things....first off....remember I was gone for 11 days...away from paper and glue.....so me and the paper have had a lovely reunion. HERE is the other BIG thing....I have more alone time...my son is back in school AND the Mr. is out in the woods huntin..... he is a bow hunter. I am alone.....just me and the paper and a cold can of coca cola. I am sure this surge will wane....it comes and goes. A Give-away and a project to share

Happy Labor Day to you all! I hope it is going well for you all. As I promised I wanted to have a give-away in celebration of my article in Artful Blogging. A lot of you suggested some type of banner. Soooo me being a bit indecisive.....I decided to make two different types ...so instead of one person winning....I will randomly select two chicks. So I made two banners.....one spelling out CHERRIES....and the other spelling NEST. Hopefully one of the two will call to you, they are done up flashcard style. The nest one I made kinda 3-d by using some brown cut up paper and used two oval pearls as the eggs. The cherries has two vintage spools on the ends and a stamped cherry in the middle. Both are heavily distressed .....I will keep this post open for a week....PLEASE ONLY COMMENT TO THIS POST IF YOU WOULD LIKE A CHANCE TO WIN. I finally got this other little project done...I saw it in a magazine...it was one of those....WHY didn't I think of that moments. I took a book....(this is really hard for me...I hate altering books.....it gives me heart palpations....LOVE them so much and feel guilty.) This one was ok.....NOTHING special....I sprayed it black...and than went to work fashioning it into a hanging Halloween "sign". I distressed the edges like you would furniture and added some inks..fashioned a rosette....added some buttons....and just had a grand old time giving it some charm. I picked out some ribbons and just nestled it between the middle pages of the book and tied a ribbon at the top. This was easy, simple, cheap, and fun! Would love to see one of you give it try! If you do please share.

Last but hopefully not least....this little guy whispered in my ear he would like to go home with one of you.....he is over yonder in my etsy store. I just added him...there are 3 Halloween items left over there.....I will be making a few more items...please let me know if there is something special or custom you would like me to make....it is JUST around the corner. Just a short post to introduce a few of my Halloween goodies I have been making this year. I have them in my etsy store...duh??? right? Bad, bad blogger

I am so sorry that I did not post an away post....I think I did mention I would be leaving for a vacation at some point but was a bit vague...I got so caught up with traveling plans, packing etc, that a few things kinda escaped me a bit. So here I am...back from Florida and Walt Disney world........rested....NOT (the humidity is fierce)....but with a wonderful magical smile on my face. It is after all the most magical place on earth don't ya know! We were gone 11 days...and home has NEVER looked so good. It was a trip of a life time....stayed with in the parks at the Wilderness Lodge which is a place I have always wanted to stay. We had a day swimming with dolpins and sting rays...got to cross that off my bucket list...and of course had fun hangin with Mickey at the Magic Kingdom. I was SOOOO EXcited because the last couple of days we were there they started decorating Main street for Halloween which I have never gotten to see before....soooo neat! I won't bore you with details but will leave you with a few random pics from our vacation. After this....back to our regularly scheduled program! Missed ya all! So many blogs to catch up on! Feeling sooo Blessed

Somedays you are BLESSED ENOUGH to realize just how blessed you really are! That is how I feel today... just darn blessed. Sure I have my days...going through the hours...taking for granted the day before me. Today is a realization....A perfect azure sky, a slight breeze blowing. I get to be at home with my boy and side kick lab pal Riley. Listening to the radio playing on the oldies station and the clicking of legos being built. Knowing the dishes FOR NOW are caught up. A sigh escapes me...a good one....and I feel happy!

You all have added to that factor...all the wonderful kudos and congratulations. Thank-you sooo much...for your warm endearments. You all have tickled me! I have gathered from many of you...that you would love to win a garland of some sort....maybe something cherry? Soooo that is what I will come up with. I plan on getting the give-away done and underway in the next few days. I will post it and that will be the official sign up. Before I leave you..I wanted to share a project I am working on with my bedroom lamps. They started a dark wood color....I than painted them white....but they were not popping enough so I painted them an aqua blue....I distressed the one I am sharing.....and also added some light blue seam binding to the white lampshade. I think they add just enough color.....the area I am showing is my side of the bed. I love the serene quality of the creams and white...but I have got to have my COLOR....this aqua with a bit of red here and there....as you will soon see....satifies my need. I can't leave with out also sharing my crafts for the weekend. I have been having a lot of fun with pinks lately.....ohhhh and doilies....who knew??? Of course most of what you see can be found in my etsy store. Thanks ever soo much my friends! Off to make a grilled cheese...OR two OR three....my boy and side kick are hungry! XOXO, Cherry
