Finding new friends....and rediscovering old ones ...

Every morning...as usual....I water my flowers ......as I went to turn the faucet on.. here sat Mr. Tree Frog perched upon the spicket. This time of year in Central Oregon is the time for frog hunting and wonderful sounds of crickets in the evening. Yep Summer...she is a winding down. When you have a 9 year old boy you make quick friends with the frogs. You turn giddy with the excitement of finding another one....giving them new homes in the back yard pond. You talk to them and examine their sleek bodies. I love to see such fascination in my child and to have him help me rediscover mine. Simple good times....exploration in your own yard.....so many little adventures to be had right at home. cherry

These are the kinds of moments us moms of boys really treasure. Simple things like frogs in the garden! I never wanted to see a frog until my son came along! I still think I would've jumped out of my skin, though, if my hand at reached for that faucet! :-)

Thanks for sharing your little froggie moment,

Melissa

I brought a frog home for my 8 yr old son.......I didn't think about this too much until I realized that he wasn't going to let him go and we had to buy him crickets.....that frog has been with us for over a year! I need to NOT live in the moment.....I bring too many critters home.
