Can YOU do the CAN CAN?

Hunter here is offering you up some hot cocoa...while you try to figure out what the heck anyone in their right mind would take this awful can for? Maybe I really have lost my mind. Awhile back I asked how much this can was at a garage sale. The old man just shook his head (thinkin I was loco..I know he was) and said.."Well...ohhh..Just take it". I am sure he was glad to get rid of it. I liked the handle on it...so sue me. It sat there and sat there....until I decided to sand it and spray paint it. Now I know this isn't Einstein here or the answer to world peace...but I kinda think it turned out cute. I decoupaged the can and antiqued it. Made some embellishments for it..added one of those adorable sparkly birds Michaels had for 29 cents! I crushed the can it a bit and added some berries. C'mon it is recycled art! Did I convince you to try the can can? Yeah I know corny. But you know you have one of those cans just lying around..begging for a new purpose. Enuff already....you say?

SO I took your word for it and added the beadboard to the bottom part of the shelves. I should say husband did...you were all right...it makes it look more finished. Someday maybe the cabinets will get a makeover. SOMEDAY. Till than this will have to do. I shared some more pics of the kitchen in its bright cheery Christmas self. The snowflake I hung in each kitchen window...they are of course from the Dollar Tree. I found the old chalkware Santa in a second hand store for .25....I love his old worn appearance. I also found that tiny little paper mache house. NOW For those that have not discovered them....those trees...the sparkly ones at the top....TARGET had them for 2.50 in front. Some of you may already know that discovery but for those that don't ....RUN to TARGET. I got like 6 of them. VeRY vintage looking. Well I leave you with the discarded count down tags........they days are flying by. Hunter has gotten a kick out of taking them down. My tree branches are looking empty. Well goodnight...I have enjoyed seeing everyone's beautiful decor and so many of you have written such lovely things about the season and the reason for it. I will be back tomorrow. NIght, night.

My gosh where does the time go?

Len is still looking for work. It is an adjustment having him home all the time. lol! I know you know what Im talking about. He is very into together time and Im missing my alone time a bit. He has never been off work this long and is handling it pretty well. I hope after the new year he has better luck finding a new job. My best wishes to Jeff in his job hunt.
My job is very physical...tonight was like house clean on an industrial scale. ROFL! My feet are killin me but I lost 23 pounds in November. Im thinking by the New year I could be a lot thinner. Woo~hoo!
