The little Hutch that could...

Good evening (Best Hitchcock voice)....I hope everyone's Friday is fairing well. While I know I have shared this wall hutch a time or two...I thought I would revisit it today. It has been a great bargain and a wonderful form of entertainment for yours truly over the last couple of years. It started out a diamond in the ruff as many do. I got it at a garage sale down the road. It had no back and was a hidous 70's brown. I added beadboard to the back and painted it black. It stayed that way for some time...until I got a whim..like I often do.. to paint. Now she is white. I moved most of my milk glass collection onto it today. (I LOVE milkglass..and never pay more than a few dollars for any given piece.) I Played around with it until I was satisfied. I tucked in a few Valentine's crafts that I finished last night. I sprayed an old dusty frame red and stamped the word love and framed it inside. I scuffed it up a bit with some sandpaper. I also covered the chipboard LOVE and HEART with the KEYHOLE w/ some fun Valentine type papers... The keyhole heart I decided to make reversible and did black/white polka dots on the other side...I think I will keep it out year round ...
The white pitchers are both new.......one is from Walmart and the other is a clearance item from Target...it had been 14.50 and it was on sale for 7.00.....I LOVE Target clearances. That is about it for me tonight...I am gonna rest my tired dogs...I have been working out and walking. The feet are feeling it! Have a good one! (OHHH and yes those are fake daisies...& YES I LIKE them rofl) Cherry

There you go again be stilling my heart with such eye candy.

So Cherry. Tonight, did you know that your bloggy name was the answer to the final Jeopardy question? The question was something to the effect of "What was the fruit dessert that was created to celebrate the Queen of Englands crowning?" And the answer was "Cherry's Jubilee"! Now how fun is that?

Hi Cherry
I love your wall hutch with the red and white theme and all your teacups, ornaments and decorations are really beautiful. I like your style very much.
Thanks for your comment on my blog re Disney. I think you will have the most fantastic time there in June. I have a friend who stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and absolutely loved it. They were upgraded for free to concierge level which saved a lot of money because snacks there were free in the evenings. We have chosen the Beach Club this time because we do not drive over there and thought we would be able to walk to more places nearby like the Boardwalk and Epcot for more dining options. I am one for planning too. Last time our 7 days were planned out right dowm to where we had our meals. We did the Disney Dining Plan which included a counter service meal, a sit down meal and a snack everyday. It was very convenient but we went home having not used it all so wasted money there. I have not heard of the meal add ons or the 4 nights for 3 but we are not able to book things like you do. Our trip was booked 10months ago because we needed to go in the school holidays and the flights from here soon get fully booked.
I am sure we will both enjoy comparing notes on our holidays later in the year.
Have a great weekend.

Don't you ever get sick of folks saying "you are sooooo creative"? Well, here it goes again---YOU ARE SO CREATIVE!! How do you keep coming up with these great ideas of yours! Wow! My eyes were just popping out more and more with every wonderful picture! I love everything--the letters in the flower frogs spelling LOVE was just the neatest!!!
I have always loved milk glass, too. I'm glad it's gaining in popularity for decorating--it's kinda like hammered aluminum (which I'm really in to right now)--they fall in and out of favor with us. Milk glass is so simple and beautiful. Heck, it would look great with hammered aluminum--maybe I need to start picking up some!!
Loved your post!

Dana

I've been working out more lately, too, and my body just hurts all over. Going to another class today--that makes 4 this week--and I'm OLD!! :)

I spy milk glass! I'm the same way with mine, I refuse to pay more than a dollar or two for a piece unless it is something really special. Many pieces in my collection were bought for a quarter at yard sales. My husband says that is because I'm the only one who wants it. I don't think he believes me that other people like it too.

All your creations are beautiful! You have such creativity.
Thanks for coming over and checking out my fabric choices. The brown dot fabric is from Joanns. I think I spent almost 2 hours in that store on Thursday. lol They also had another dot on brown that was smaller.
