J O Y

(PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR VISIONS OF SUGARPLUMS BLOG HOP)

HI and happy Monday.  It is my day at RRR and I am sharing this project.  They are three simple blocks that I had done years ago with scrapbook paper and embellishments etc and added the "JOY" letters too.  I was tired of them and wanted a simple country farmhouse look to them.  Which is what my home decor is.

I was able to take the vinyl O off that I had made with my cricket years ago.  I replaced it with some simple greens and berries!

I wrapped each block with my very, very, very favorite ribbon that I use to decorate with.  It is the
red plaid in 5/8.  I love to use it to add pops of red here and there in my house.

Here they are together.  I love how they turned out.  I have them sitting on a simple antique green transferware platter and love the simple homey touch it adds to my kitchen.

Home would be a cute idea as well......so many ideas and so little time!!!

Here is also a picture I took of how I use this ribbon in simple ways around the house.  Now Tie yourself a bow and deck those halls!!!   Hugs, cherry

Oh Cherry, I don't begin to comment as I should. Your blog is a constant source of joy in my life. Your JOY blocks are just the perfect example of your unfailing sense of design, combined with vintage charm. I'm in awe of how simple (not mechanically complicated) these would be to make, and how few artists could make them so flawless reflect the spirit of the season. Warmth and homeyness are your constant companions when creating.

Thank you for choosing to share your amazing gifts through your blog. There is no where else I rather be for the holidays!

Your ardent admirer,
Marcie (aka Artistichen)

Cherry... these are just darling! What a neat idea to put the little wreath for the "O". You are SO talented and I always love when I see one of your posts in my inbox! Your cards are so unique and so full of wonderful little doo dads. I have a mailbox very similar to the one you put your greens in, with the big red bow. What a great idea. It is still outside attached to my fence! Will have to bring it in. Thanks for sharing your artistic talents. Marilyn

You've dressed those blocks up in some Christmas finery for sure. That ribbon is gorgeous and the "o" made out of greenery is fun. Thanks so much for sharing!
