Waste not want not....

                                    Hello there!  Friday, Friday, Friday.....you are here!  Which means it is my day over at the RRR blog.  You know me and my love of spools of all sorts.....wood, knitting, and even old ribbon spools.  This one is no exception!   I love the old kraft color of this one so I recycled it along with the recycling of green stems that I gathered and saved up from my berry stems (from RRR) .  I took the green stems and wound them together to create a wreath of sorts.  While this takes some time, I enjoyed it.  I know...I am strange like that. 
                                    Once I had the "wreath" connected together I added individual berry spray clusters to around the wreath to add color.  I than added it along with my image to my glitter star for my layers that I love so!  I added several ribbons....the more the merrier.  I used burlap center stitch in red,  red gingham 3/8 , and seam bindings both in lipstick red and moss green.  To the center of my ribbons I added a mini tag, greenery, and more berry clusters. 
                               The spool itself when I bought it already had the red twine wrapped around it and so I left it for color and added some cute Fancy Pants Christmas tickets to the base along with some handmade sewn crepe paper for some fullness.  Hope you enjoy ....I think it is pretty festive and deserves the blog title "Waste not want not" !  hugs, cherry

                          Happpy blog hoppin day!  I always have fun on RRR  days they share their new Ribbon assortment for the monthly ribbon club!  So much inspiration to be had!  Remember if you ever get lost just click on RRR link above to start back at the blog.  You should have hopped over from Kathy's blog.  I created a card and little linen gift bag ensemble.  Since Thanksgiving is getting ever close I created it with that theme in mind.  Would make a lovely hostess gift this year.  I used several leaves in different textures, crystal style buttons, stamped images, burnt rust seam binding, and the ribbon club ribbons.  Your next stop is back to the RRR blog.  Have fun!  hugs, cherry

owls, owls, and more owls....

                 Forgive me for popping in so often.  It is just that I have so many projects I enjoy sharing....sometimes with not a lot of words.  Do you love owls?  I do!  So fun and whimsical.  Perfect for any holiday too....so cute for the holidays.  Snow owls are well...just a hoot (couldn't help myself).  I have three projects today, two using my resin owls, and the other just a sweet old image with the cutest Christmas sentiment!   Hope they put a wee bit of a smile on your face!  hugs, cherry

weather is coming.....

                       Oh my it is Monday...and by Wednesday we are suppose to get 10 inches of snow.  Not ready for that quite yet.  In the mean time I am knee deep in holiday goodies.  Can't stop myself.  I also can't stop myself from buying more holiday papers.  I guess my buying hiatus is over with.  OYYY vayyyyy.  I do not need anything more, but Christmas is my weakness.  More Scotties today, just can't get enough.  Do I own a Scottie?  Nope.  Just like creating with the images.  I think they are the epitome of that era I love....the colors, images, sweetness, and innocence.  Hope you enjoy today!   hugs, cherry

Traditional and nuetrals...

                             Today was my son's birthday ....17!!!!  I have a 17 year old son...I need to practice saying that more.  Maybe than....I will get use to it, lol.   He had friends over and I made many many junk food items.  It was bittersweet, but I really enjoyed seeing him enjoying himself.  Such a surreal feeling watching them gain their footing in the adult world.  Again so bittersweet. 
                            Creating is my safe escape.  I can lose myself in my little room....way back at the end of the house. I find myself craving to steal a few moments back there.  Here are a few of my latest results from stolen moments.    I thought I would share some cards I made for Riddersholm Designs.   Such beautiful papers.  The first is more traditional in color.   The other two are again in that neutral palette that I have been enjoying lately.  The papers I used are from the Our Country Christmas   and A Christmas Story .   There is such a wonderful mix of classic and nuetrals in these collections.  Some of which can be used all year around.  Well the clock is ticking my bedtime...off I go!   hugs, cherry

Winter holiday with ribbon challenge..

 

 

Today there is a challenge over at RRR.  It is a winter holiday theme with ribbon of course!  I wanted to try a non-traditional color scheme...so I went with  neutrals.  I used white seam binding on both cards and also Tabatha ecru crochet lace.    My Tree card uses May arts burlap string in natural for the tree base.  I also had to add a bit of berry clusters in silver to my angel card.  Just love love this color scheme.....hope you do too!   Make sure to check out the other girl's projects, and join in your self!  hugs, cherry

Best friends...

Hello there......Tuesday!     Yours going well?   I have to go start dinner but wanted to pop in with some fun projects!   Dogs certainly are our best friends....maybe that is why I love creating with these neat old images.   Nostalgic and sweet.   I have used a mix of new and old to me.  I finally succumbed and bought some new Christmas papers.  I used ribbons from RRR and some from my stash.  I always...ALWAYS enjoy mixing patterns and manufacturers.  Well..hope you enjoy!  Have a wonderful evening, cherry
