Almost time...
It is just about that time. We are all ready with our groceries. Mother-in-law is bringing over the turkey. Looking forward to some family time. I am reallly looking forward to this holiday season. Can't wait to deck those halls, drink some hot cocoa, and bake cookies. I am popping in one last time before next week to share several things that have made me so happy creating! All the colors, ribbons, embellishments that go into making something. Getting just the right placement..and when it actually does come out like you had in your head. Happpy days! I hope you are leading a stress free holiday and enjoy all those sweet little moments....the loud ones and the quiet ones. Enjoy, cherry

Hobo Candy Cane tutorial...
Thought I would share a little step by step with you. Gather your supplies up. I also gathered up some little doodads to fancy them up a bit. I actually tea stained my pipe cleaners for a more aged and prim look before I assembled. Once you have everything just gather your red and white stems and cut them in half for smaller to medium candy canes. Than just simply add a dab of hot glue to one end and wrap your torn ribbon around the white stems. I loosely wrapped because I wanted to still see a bit of the pipe cleaner. Than from here just wrap that stem around your red. Once you are done shape into your candy cane shape.
As you can see I made quite a few and glittered some up. Another one I simply gussied up with some lipstick red seam binding , a snowflake , and a faux berry. I also paired them up and added to the front of a Christmas album. I am going to add a bunch to a christmas bowl this year for decoration. They would also look adorable tied to packages or on the tree all over! I am thinking I might try another ribbon next time....maybe a lace of some sort. Well hope you enjoy! hugs, cherry

Gift packaging and ribbon challenge
Today starts a new challenge over at RRR. It is a gift packaging and ribbon challenge. Chalk and milk paint are all the rage right now. Or maybe I am late to the party. Either way I am smitten with it as of late. I have painted a hutch, bench and now several mason jars. I prettied this up using paint, a bit of distressing, paper fringes, doodads, and red plaid ribbon, seam bindings, natural burlap in red, and if you look real closely (my pictures are dark) you can see I used plain cotton blend ribbon for my garland fringe around the first mason jar. All you have to do is fold it double and stitch down the middle and cut in like you would for paper fringe. Love the prim look of it! Well I am just dead tired...I have GOT To get some sleep...I plan on dancing my hiney off tomorrow at Zumba! hugs, cherry

Joy to the World.....
Hello to you! I have not been feeling well so glad to have found a bit of preoccupation with this little project. I have had this little printer tray sitting on my desk. It was staring at me today pleading with me to do something with it. Sooo I got to work cutting up some new papers, diecuts, and embellies. It kept me busy for half the day....figuring out where I wanted everything to go. Adding this ....taking away that. It started to tell its own little story..... See the little child in the corner...I imagined them waiting for Christmas morn to come. Hoping for a sled to appear. So I added a sled and of course an image of Santa. All the magic of Christmas eve! I am pretty pleased with the way it came out. Just enough detail , but not over done! I used ribbons from RRR. Most of my supplies are actually old Christmas collections that I am just now getting to use. I had not bought in so long that I am way behind the times. I just love all the collections from Echo Park, that is what I have been gravitating towards lately. Well I hope this Tuesday finds you well and you enjoy my project! hugs, cherry

Mittens, mittens, mittens....
HAPPY peaceful Sunday! I have been a bit under the weather with a cold. Luckily I have no where I need to go and I get to just rest and create a little. I will be honest...I don't know what I will do once Christmas is over. I adore creating things so much for it! I get a bit lost after December. I can't wait to decorate and have bought a few new things that I have tucked away for this season. I have been creating many stockings and mittens. Today I thought I would share my mittens. These wont keep your hands warm , but they just might warm your heart! So excited I got a box of new papers and broke into it yesterday. Paper and diecuts are my very very favorite thing to use. Two basics in the paper world that you just can NOT live with out. Happy ginghams, christmas florals, stickers, and of course some nostalgic images. Lots of ribbon from RRR of course! Does my heart good! Ok my friends....I am off to finish up some custom orders for some folks! hugs to you all, cherry
